Good to hear of hedgehogs doing well in some areas, always loved those little buggers. One of the best things you can do to help them out if you have a fenced yard is to knock a couple of small holes in the bottom of your fence and encourage neighbours to do the same, if they can travel through gardens easier it keeps them off the roads and opens up new territory. My ma got everyone on her close knocking holes out of their fences a couple years back after seeing it on Autumnwatch or something and she's always getting hedgehogs visting now when she never saw them before.

Depends where you're at in society really doesn't it? Folks like me and you who are comfortable and somewhat removed from the daily grind don't really notice much difference from one government to the next but for the folks struggling on Universal Credit or on a zero hours contract in some hell hole distribution centre, relying on foodbanks and living in substandard over priced housing government policy can have a huge impact on their daily lives for the better or worse.
