  2. rectical is amd 9.5 mil dots down from centre at 10x. very good lenses in it.
  3. i have a 5 gun cabine. to be fare it would fit 3 scoped air rifles. with separte lockable comparments
  4. any fac s410's owners out there that have shot fac airwolf as a compareson? what sort of longer range accuracy does a good fac 410/510 give and how many shots per charge? i am looking at around 30ftlbs with 16 grain pellets. what groups does the s410 produce at say 100 yards?
  5. i agree with this, use a cleaning rod, never use anything that could damage the barrel ie. somthing hard. i put a little seletape round the rod think mine is copper or some other soft metal so it adds extra protection but i value the barrel so much. no need to take anything apartjust tap the pellets through. if it looks like they are wedged in take it to a good gun smith. pellet lube also works for helping the pellets out.
  6. if i were you mate i would get a nice 30 odd ft/lb air gun, nice bolt action .22lr and a nice .17hmr if you can aford it. not cheap tho. from what i am learning each type has its place and uses. 2 acres of market garden with a footpath down the side on one of my shoots definatly not hmr teritory but the owner is happy with an airgun. also where i am with 7 acres airgun is much safer and provided there is clear safe space behind the trees i can also take shots at pigeons in trees i would never do this with the rimmfires. 600acre hill top farm with loads of crows and wide spaces is rimfi
  7. 4-16*50 mtc tiapan scope. in good condition nice optics with good light transmition. 30mm tube selling becuase i have to many scops now! £205.posted. can post or collection fine. http://i544.photobucket.com/albums/hh358/nightstalker000/SAM_1051.jpg
  8. anyone now where i can get spare mags from? browning / winchester 52 mags
  9. seen you said deadly accurate with a good .22 and good ammo what sort of groups would you expect from a good setup at 100 yards?
  10. i like to zero around 50 yards. i use a half mill dot scope 10 mills down from centre. 75 is one mill dot down 100 is 2.4 mills down. with subs 10 mill dots down is 200 yards. without ajusting anything i find it usful to range find then hold over. 20 - 55y is approx bang on zero which is good for night shooting and stalking then hold over for longer shots like 60,75,, 95 etc i have a chart which is attached to my stock. which is spot on (above are just off the top of my head) the holdovers tend to change alot based on different brands of subs so i try and stick with the sam
  11. wind can lower poi if blowing strong and the shot is into the wind i have experinced this myself. however we all miss some of the time were only human could be a poor shot or bad round..
  12. i think that wraps it up sounds like the choice is down to the environment ie big fields and no neighbours or no finiky livestock then hmr for extended range, but with livestock disturbence issues, close neighbours, smaller fields the .22 is cheaper and very quiet. i still wonder which disturbes the rabbits the least. i might just have to buy a hmr after all this talk give my .22 a stable mate!
  13. its comments in the above utube vid that have got my thinking. according to mr crow hmr is the way to go.
  14. thanks for all the info guys. jonno, what sort of land is each suited to in your opinion?
  15. i managed to get 500 eley subs last week for £43 so £4.30 a box. considering they are made down the road from me (uk manuafacturer more expensive) and the quality is very good, i consider the price to be very reasonable.
  16. i did not like the night eye sending it back this week. The Night Eye has been around for years in various guises and is a mainstay for Deben, it is a budget scope that offers a lot for the money, what is it you don't like? as you said it has a lot for the money which is why i ordered one after being very happy with the CHEAPER panorama. i though yes i need a side parrelx which is the only down side to the panorama. but the main reason why i disliked the night eye i order is due to very poor light transmition when used with my nv and laser. strangly enough i found the panorama to
  17. HMR a point & shoot calibre??What zero do you use then.....because i must be doing something wrong :hmm:with my 50 yd zero & holdunder to around a 100yds i am guessing that a hmr 75-100 zero would be flat from 25 - 110 ish? if so then it really is a point and shoot usful when using nv i guess as range is hard to judge with a more loopy .22 sub. one of my thoughts is why not just get the best of both worlds with a .22, using subs for one shoot then the next hv which seem to be 1 mill dot/3moa high at 50 y and 1 mill dot /3moa low at 124 ish. however still trying to
  18. I would never get rid of my .22LR for a .17HMR.Both guns are well used in the summer but for lamping out of the jeep the .22 get's 99% of the work is that becuase the low noise is better for lamping? scaring less rabbits away in the next field?
  19. i did not like the night eye sending it back this week.
  20. i have the hawke panorama on my .22lr and very pleased with it. good light transmition, with nv add on, or lamp, 4-12x50 10 half mill dot bellow centre rectical accounting for subs droping out ot 200 yards on 10 mills down, only 500grams, cheaps as chips, only drawback is the lack of side parrelex focus. also has illuminated rectical which is usful at times. other hawk model do not have very good light transmition.
  21. never shot a hmr so no direct experience, but i would buy a few different types of rounds, clean my barrel with a pull through, take the gun to a local shooting range which is in an underground 100m tunnel then try all the rounds systematically (sorry for bad spelling) then get the range/gunsmith on site who is a good shot to test ot as well. maybe even bench testing it so it cannot move without mod. hope this helps. i have been told that they are sub MOA accurate so it should be doing say apporx 1inch at 100 yards 2inch at 200 so I have been told anything less and i would be unhappy with th
  22. hi guys new member, good to meet you all. I have a .22lr browning 16inch threaded bolt action however, i like rabbit shooting on many types of ground. never shot a .17hmr but heard lots of good reports about them. for effective hunting, pest control and managment of rabbits if I HAD TO JUST HAVE ONE RIFLE which is the most effective tool for rabbit shooting? if anyone has experince of using both in differing situation what would you recomend and why? regards
