looking for opinions on which gun people would choose and why?
-
i'm sure i'm not the only one but sometimes i want to change my rifle just to try a new gun or to get the perfect setup for me. just for a change if you know what i mean. well i'm pondering which would be the best gun to have (in peoples opinions) if price was not an issue at all and the gun be set at 32fpe. I can only afford one or the other. either a huntsman classic xl OR an airwolf mvt with a 400cc tank? it will be used for hunting and target shooting. short and long range. which one would you have and why?

ignoring the insult run.... asuming you have done all the basics and you are not making a basic mistake, have you checked to see your gun +block +scope alignment is ok to start with. ie: IN OTHER WORDS HAS YOUR GUN GOT A CROSS OVER PROBLEM? i'm not saying it is but its worth checking anyway.

she is wasting perfectly good brass!!!
riflehunter583 replied to riflehunter583's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
the real reason i put this thread up. it came across to me as if she needed lots of shots to kill one boar. that she put in a good effort but the whole setup seems a big challenge to get clean kills from a helicopter?? surly the people who run these heli shoots know alot of hits will not be clean and always kill with the first shot or second. many needing one or more follow up shots resulting in animal suffering (other companies doing this shoot at say 20 hogs in one field on full auto) personally when i have wounded animals with my first shot it has been accidental and i try to -

gonna buy the resizing die anyway just in case i find some free brass if ur still up for a tip up leeds. i was taking the pi$£ about the brass lads. a few quids worth of bass is nothing compared to the cost of running a chopper and the whole experience looks worth the money spent. however i was hoping some of you might have picked up on the ethics of the methods used. -
Needing some advice on which rimmy?
riflehunter583 replied to RobertoS86's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
The HMR shoots flatter and is FRACTIONALLY more accurate than the WMR, but the WMR in 30g V-Max is very flat and accurate and carries approx 70ft lb more out of the barrel than the HMR, so that maybe 3-5mm difference in accuracy at 100 yards is more than made up by calibre size and energy! As for a prehistoric looking round , what do you think the HMR is based on, and talk prehistoric, when did you last look at a .22 Hornet Cartridge, but what have looks got to do with anything? alot actually. the shape and surface finnish of a round is important to its accuracy. .22lr rounds -

for a purpose or personal pleasure ? we all buy and use for different reasons. have different guns for different jobs etc. personally .... when i found out that .223 can be cheaper to run than hmr i was very interested (being a tight git). when i learned that a well moderated .223 and hmr make similar noise disturbance i though some more. when i learnt that .223 bucks the wind better than hmr i started to realise having seen that .223 is a great fox round i had to get one. that the us military and uk military use a similar round has to be worth something, that one can load -

Nice and unbiased, just forget the semi auto my personl preference is bolt over semi all day long for a number of reasons. but who am i to stop someone having some fun with a semi if thats what they want to shoot with. and its a good tool the americans use them for rat shooting in the swamps. and you can shoot a bolt gun .22 well  plus you can shoot a hmr well. :victory: -
i got a merlin its good for about 150 yards with a good laser. and it hast to be a good scope or you wont see 50 yards with it.

i like to clean all my gun barrels as i firmly belive it improves accuracy. even if cleaning is just a few pulls through with a patch without detergent or oil so its always leaded to some degree. airgun / 22lr. for copper jacket bullets i belive the brush needs to be used to get the copper out and the carbon build up etc. -

depending on the wind strength on your land i would go for either a .17hmr or small cal centre fire say .17 .204 .222. -

if i were you i would defiatly have a .22lr for closer bunnies hares and very close fox and night shooting etc. its a great cheap allrounder. up to 120 yards if using a range finder. .17hmr will be good from say yards to 160 yards for bunnies etc but don't be put off buy going for the .223 and not the hmr after the .22lr i have done this recently and successfully but get some help with the application cause some of the feo are unhelpful at best. if you have anything larger than cwd munjac then you need a .243 and asking for a .223 when yu have roe or fallow or red is not going to -

F#@K bolt action .22 had one thought it was good then got a go with my friends cz 511 semi auto best fun ever and no difference in accuracy out to 50 yards anyway Your mate must have had a better made 511 than I had then. Virtually brand new but the grouping I got from it wa 3-4 times the size of any bolt action I've ever had. yea same here the semi i had grouped badly to. then i got a bolt action and very happy. semis are fun and good out to say yards and a good follow up shot if first shot wounds but i found the bolt action is less noisy and more accurate at say 100 yards. howev -

as someone has said try and get it recorded on the mobile. either talking to them face to face or talking to them over the phone if you can. if you can get somthing recorded that proves you paid for it then youhave good leverage. this simple procedure has saved me over £10k in deal once with a high profile legal firm which tried to ip me off. what ever you decide to do after that will be helped by the evidence. sometimes people will hint at what they have done and if its recorded then you can use this to your advantage.
