  1. Just the rabbits but if I deer a fox and have the appropriate hardware at the time then it would make sense to take that too.
  2. Got myself a lovely new permission through today. Been a long while trying to get some new ground and perseverance has paid off. Great bit of ground, just want to sort out the times that suit the owners and get started.
  3. I have one and I get on with it great
  4. Hi, I'm after a cheap stealth camera to put up on a permission to help find who's taking down fences. I've googled around but they are all over £100. I know you get what you pay for but if it's found by whoever is doing this then I've just chucked money in their direction.......
  5. Do some plinking or target shooting out to 200 and you'll feel better. Maybe in the back of your mind you thought the shot wasn't as safe as originally thought. I've done that loads and having second thoughts can sometimes be a good thing
  6. cheers, i'll have a youtube look and listen on all the above.
  7. Hi, I know this is going to open up a load of points but I'm looking for a new / or second hand moderator for 243 223 I have an Atec NM8 (can't recall exactly which model right now) on my 243 but it's not really making much difference. Now do I put that on my 223 and hey presto? Then get a new one for my 243? OR Something different and if so what? (Prefer nothing hugely heavy) Cheers in advance
  8. Finally, after a lot of mucking about I am back on track with he 243. 2 tight groups of 5 shots at 50 yards and all was well. Will try out to 75 and 100 when I get in from work.
  9. really interesting thread, my 243 is still not right and today i've stripped it, cleaned it absolutely thoroughly and re-assembled exactly as per the manufacturers tensions etc bore sighted and just waiting to get the pony in to a safer area in case he goes divvy when the shot rings out.
  10. Damnit, can't zero it as the new pony is flipping out! Try again tomorrow,
  11. keep trying but its raining just enough to be unpleasant to zero in properly
  12. Yah, got my 243 back today with a replacement stock. Just got to swap to the swaro and zero now.
  13. True indeed my friend. Back to the targets
  14. exactly, leaves me totally confused. guess its back to the try them all against a target and see whats what
  15. its a ballistic tool ??? based on a calculation that works out twist rate versus bullet weight http://www.bergerbullets.com/twist-rate-calculator/
  16. i thought that too CC but the berger bullets thing put them really low in efficiency.
  17. Yeah, going by the manufacturers info doesn't say much. Just wondered why some fair better than others on that calculatio? And why that calculation was invented if not used more extensively
  18. Hi, I am trying to not get bogged down in this but curiosity has me looking. Berger bullets web site has some interesting data on stability of bullets which all the other bullet manufacturers don't go into. Eg a 243 with twist of 1:10 doesn't seem to have much at all that BB shows as Stable! Anyone else got any experiences of this sort of thing in practice? Cheers
  19. Nice read that mate, lucky to beat the weather too.
