  1. That's exactly why i went 223 and not 204. Plus i can get 223 in more options more readily than 222 or 22-250 around this way.
  2. I don't think there's a 1 gun for all. Depends on quarry, Country Backstop Land size to a certain degree but backstop more so obviously Ammo availability How much use - barrel wear Cost overall etc
  3. Had my barrel shortened and i use a sak and its great for the money, doubt i'd find better
  4. Isuzu Ranger Dmax . . Landy anything . . L200 Navarra Maxda B
  5. I've read great things about the Howa's, made in Japan to a very high standard. Only critisism I've heard is that the stocks need to be upgraded due to excessive 'flex' The newer moulded stocks have been reinforced now!
  6. forums are full of negative comments unfortunately. Good for day with its colour but look at the USA forums and it's not a great story at all Some guy in UK has had 4 and set them all back apparently I've not seen or tried one but all the comments have put me right off until they get it sorted fully
  7. I'd love to guys but I now teach my own classes on Saturdays until 1pm so I'm stuffed up.
  8. Bump as the person who was coming to try has decided not to come
  9. What 410 you got Dan, was thinking about one for my son to start with.
  10. 223 ballistic will go right through that, especially with ballistics. I had used rail sleepers as back stops until i went and got one of the other BH Targets. Careful with the fixed mount as if that slopes in any direction other than down, you could get a ricochet. Mine is now a swinger with some rope making sure that it angles down a bit. Watch out for any 22's coming pinging back to you. Not had one myself but heard about more than one that went close at 50 yards distance to target and came pinging back.
  11. I had an email from Thomas Jacks today about the 6.5 XT: "We don’t have a firm update from the factory as of yet, but I should imagine we will know more after SHOT Show next week. If you want to give me a call in the office on the week of the 26th I’ll hopefully be able to tell you more. Best Regards, Thomas Jacks Limited" So watch this space
  12. Pulsar Recon 750 (non recording version) Box, Carry Case Wrist strap Video Out Lead Instructions Lens Filter Good device when used with a T20 or similar. Onboard IR is good for approximately 70 yards to identify rabbit sized targets in pitch black. Better under dusk / moon £270
  13. I remember something vaguely similar from someone before I put my variation in. 223 is my dedicated night time tool (well will be once i can find and afford a dedicated sight. Every time i hear good stuff about something then others say it's a disappointment. (N750, N750A, LRF870, X-Sight, and Drone - although the DP is now being upgraded to a newer version due out soon. The Photon XT is great but needs much more magnification but i'm not into trying to double something that should have been built right in the first place.
  14. Most of my local RFD's dont stock much in 222. They all said that 223 is much more widely available and to go down the 222 route i'd have been best reloading. Maybe its just that nor many round here have 222 but 22-250, 223, etc which determines stock levels at the stores. Its just a pity its still a bit on the noisy side even with a sonic mod
  15. I didn't have you down as a fellow chav Hutchey! But it does say you live in Tenterden. LOL Yeah buddy, I thought about the 222 but its it's only a reloaders choice 204 was an option but didn't float my boat
  16. Fixed that for you fella lol That 25-06 is a beast, especially your one Dan. Damn stock is like a log. How's it going mate, still having fun down there. You up for that 600 yarder yet?
  17. I do but not got someone coming to try it this week
  18. 223 all day long, backed up with a 243
