  1. as far as i deem appropriate for the backdrop, weather conditions, ensuring an instant kill, the size of the intended target, suitability of gun/ammo, and my own level of comfort on the taking the shot SIMPLES!
  2. not bad but are they over here yet? wonder how the FLO's will treat them?

  5. Hi, I've just put in for a variation and also thought i'd put in for a SGC as i'm looking at doing Clays, Pheasants, Crows etc. Now i've only been looking at them in the gunsmiths and like the over/under ones appearance. Anyone got any suggestions for a suitable first SG? Cheers, Richard
  6. If you have a hawke scope you can download the brc software and it gives you loads of info on this. I suspect it works for other scopes too

  11. True, to be fair I have met 3 blokes that are great that way. Couple of others are nice and helpful too but made it clear they do it for supplementary income.
  12. What have I started? Sorry folks but its good to see how opinions vary. Unless the novice likes of myself and others get the chance to take a shot, Gralloch, etc then if an offer for land comes my way, how will I know what to do. It's seems that a few people seem more interested in charging people they refer to as "clients" to line their own pockets when they themselves were either invited onto the land or asked for permission to be there in the first place. So the future stalkers are either having to buy days, buy syndicates or wait until dead mans shoes happens.
  13. is this a bit too simplistic: if you own the land then its fair to charge if you are employed to work on the land (farmer, game keeper, etc) then does that give the right to charge? (as any money, carcass etc is the property of the owner) if the employee doesnt want to take you out then thats fair enough as its their time. it just seems like some folk who have the permission to shoot, stalk, boar hunt etc are then charging onwards for their own pocket lining. surely this is wrong! i'm entirely new too this so be gentle with critique.
  14. big Sika right behind the high seat, couldnt turn to get a shoot and it sniffed us and darted off
  15. I was lucky to be one of the lucky ones to get my first from exactly this. Hopefully i'll get some stalking land in the future from which i can offer the same as Sussex has. And if you need a hand with those fences Rich, i'll happily help you.
  16. I'd like to say yes but me and mrs are sound. It's the damn stable rats I got issues with. Cat is old and lazy and the dog is too young or too smart to come back on demand. Lol
  17. I doubt there would be anything left of them.
