  1. Flippen heck Dan, how you have a very large freezer. Lol
  2. personally i'd have asked who they were and what land they owned, no reasonable response from them would have been a signal from me to tell them to **** OFF! Simples!
  3. I have the howa 1500 in the black synthetic stock with the fluted dark barrel, Atec moderator and a hawke sidewinder 30 scope (don't ask- long story). She works great but I reckon its worth getting the magazine conversion done. My trigger pull is standard and it suits me fine. Only knocked off a fox so far but at about 170 yards with factory ammo
  4. 50 metre shot at a packet of mini cheddars with a bow and arrow. I was about 13 or 14 at the time.
  5. Scent, wind, noise, deer are smartly aware of your presence. I'm a novice but I reckon you put it up, leave it a week or so for them to get used to it and then pick a good day with all the variables in your favour and try it.
  6. Are those Lapuas that good? I'm getting good groups with my Winchester subs. Tried CCI and they were crap out of my barrel, same with RWS.
  7. Hi Andrew, I was using 90gr PPU as they are cheap, gets my rifle barrel broken in. I've got some 58gr Hornady Varmint Ballistic tips and some 95gr of the same too. When i use these up i'll try some federal and some Remington maybe. Going up for my induction at Bisley in a couple of weeks so hope to get through some ammo up there at some point. Just finished doing a load of ballistic tables for the 3 rounds i've tried so far. Rich
  8. So I went out with the bairn again tonight and soon enough we spotted Charlie. High seats were out due to my anti friends homing themselves on them so we wandered into the wood area. Not great weather, no wind and a half moon behind us were against us but a few squeaks and we saw the eyes. No shot so we moved about 20 feet left. Dammit, Charlie vanished. A few more squeaks and it was responding. A bit of a squeak conversation later and it was coming nearer, not quite in the permission area yet but nearing. We moved out into the field, running the risk of our silhouettes being seen. Droppi
  9. Not quite: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2130975/Woman-loses-hand-bitten-false-widow-spider.html http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/more-sightings-of-the-false-widow-spider-as-britains-most-venomous-arachnid-with-orange-legs-and-white-skull-markings-spotted-in-essex-8837092.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2434855/Spider-bite-nearly-cost-leg-Basingstoke-carer-feared-amputation-leg-turned-black.html They don't seem to be fatal unless your allergic but they do seem to be reported as producing some bad reactions locally in some people. Probably best avoid

  15. I've seen about 5 rabbits here at home, there are usually what seems like 100 or so. Keep finding new burrows but not much sign of use.
  16. blow torch, i'd end up burning my new home made high seats, the woodland and probably the house if i went to get those ones on the guttering too.
