  1. I use 58g for fox and 95g for deer It's not cheap either but my gun likes them and the targets drop fast
  2. I've had my 12g for a couple of months now and have been trying to get out to my local clay place but every time i've been able to go its either been a competition shoot on or too damn windy / pouring down! Depressing dot com
  3. last i heard it was open but i've not been there to varify.
  4. I've got a cheap Hawke 4-12 x50 on mine and its good, clear but for pure target work its not great as its variable. I get around this by working out how the change in mag alters drop at given distances. They are in my head now so its ok. Mine normally never strays off the 6x mark but a 3 inch target at differing between 50 and 100 yards at a changed mag up to max means a missed kill.................
  5. ^^ ditto ^^ I was looking for a cheapie first Shotty but couldnt get one that felt comfortable and i could hit a door with, had to spend a little more (in my case anyway) to get one that i can shoot quite well with.
  6. Cheers CC, friend on here showed me a browning semi and I just about drooled over it! Lol

  8. You could go to Jbm ballistics . Com
  9. Don't forget muzzle velocity differs at different temperatures. The info on Hornady website is based on 72 degrees I know cause I asked them recently
  10. I'm out on the shotgun today for a while until the hunt comes along!
  11. I have the howa with fluted barrel in 243 and it's a great rifle, nice weight, accurate once you've put rounds through it! Stock not the best in the world but then it's a cheaper rifle!
  12. It's also got 1 x 5 shot magazine and 2 x 10 shot magazines £450
  13. Thinking of testing the waters to see what a Cz452 style with mod and scope is worth? Gun has fired less than 2500 shots since new, really accurate with win subs through it. Mod doesn't have any obvious name or identifying markings but was on the gun when I got it from new. Scope is a hawke 3-9 x50 with red and green reticle illumination. Has a sling also. I'll get a pic up later
  14. Welcome back Where abouts were you in Canada? If I could ever convince the mrs to relocate it would be there for me. I'd also like to keep up this interest if I moved lol
  15. I could have had a lovely buck if only it was on season. Great looking head it had. Got home and spent an hour piecing it all up and into freezer already sized for meals. Had a casserole, some steaks and made some sausages out of it so far. So damn tasty, looking for nice recipes to have the rest with! BH - how are you getting on with the heads? Any pics yet?
  16. True indeed, checked the settings etc. all trouble points to the batteries so will get some new ones as per above and test again.
