  1. This is the thing, i like to be quiet and unobtrusive and i do like my 22 but in a lot of instances i cant use the 243 at night for both noise and overkill for the distance that night vision restricts us to safely. I seriously thought about the 17hmr but it is oddly quite loud even with a mod. If i had to choose then it would be more on the fox side
  2. Hi foolks I'm looking at a dedicated NV rifle for Rabbit and Fox, what are your thoughts on these in terms of say: Rifle cost Ammo cost Quietness etc Cheers, i'm off to google a bit more too
  3. Hi, is this the red/blue illuminated version? With the side parallax? Cheers
  4. Don't tell the family but if I was single I'd be in a wee log cabin doing this stuff for a living!
  5. Micky , the deer over here hit with a .270 normally only need picking up ...not finding ! ..we use the .06 in the park on fallow & I personally think its a bit to much gun ..there a bit smaller than some of your deer ... Good to see you back online a Rich, your project all done now?
  6. Tried PM ing you but it says you can't receive any more messages
  7. Do you a deal mate next time your down I have a 30cm steel plate I'll give you 10 shots at 600yds with the 25 if you hit it I promise to never mention the .410 again Can I have another go from that distance please too buddy?
  8. My hawke is good on both rimmy and 243 out yo over 250 yards easy. Not the best glass ever but for the price they are much better now than a few years ago
  9. 2 weeks ol and used twice. Selling as I can't dedicate either rifle to a NV scope (unless I put in a variation request for different calibre) Obviously it comes with its box, etc £360
  10. Likewise but am now using a browning which is just as good, has a better magazine and easier bolt action
  11. I tried swaros but my hawkers look just as good to me. I guess it depends on your eyes, conditions etc
  12. Think I paid £39 last time for 500
  13. I did mine at 50 yards and used the X's to great effect. Longest head shot at just over 120'yards
  14. Nice rifle, mine was a synthetic stock and it loved winchesters.
  15. Very good reading, nice scenery too. My wood is covered in bluebells too. Nice to be up high just watching wildlife move about
  16. Not sure I like the add on units as they look so awkward and stick out too far out the front or interfere with the the eye end. Mind you I've not tried one so can't really comment. The price is still too high for these too,
  17. Nice one FD, bet he's really chuffed. A minty to boot.
  18. Same here, I've got 243's if anyone wants them.
