    Unfortunatly im rented accomm sonot allowed dogs .....only just managed to get me ferts in......would love to get a dog and try me hand at it.......until i win the lotto :whistling:

    I done a fair bit of rescues for a local animal charity over here.....rescues and stuff like that for them. Now these are a registered charity and have over 200 cats and dogs in there sanctuary. The cost of vets in Ireland is through the roof, now some of the vetsthey were using were charging them full price for ll the animals that they brought to them. I contacted a vet with a dog that had a serious eye infection out of hours and explained the situation and that i was doing this on behalf of the charity. He took the dog in for me out of hours and treated the dog. He then gave the dog the snip

    Depends on the ferret really....you cant put limit on them. 8 years is a good age for them, some less some more. Hopefully you'll get a couple of years out of her.

    Yeah thats what i was gonna go for.......looks good too. Watched the one where a fella changed the colour in the middle so it was striped ....very effective with different colours. Will order some gear have a go....im only sat here picking locks in the evening anyways so may as well have another hobby along with it. .....cheers.

    Most of my nets were stolen ....so starting from scratch. Where the feck did i go wrong ..........asked my missus to trim my hobs nail while i held him she freaked..........going to try and do a swap ......my missus for a locator. ;) Well like the look of it even if i can make 6-7 a week i'll soon have them up and ready....just keep making them through the year and by next season i'll have a damned good bag of decent nets.

    There has been a few cases of them not been done properly but a very low rate of this happens. Personally if the ferret is in good health then it should be a straight forward op with no problems.......best thing to do is find a recommended vet to do it....someone that has had ferrets done before with them.

    Love it ....absolutely love it!!! Cant beat the youngsters coming out and learning the tricks, and the do's and donts of ferreting. Wish there was more like them round my way rather than off smoing the reefa's and messing all the time. Great past time nice skill to have and a good old bit of countryside ....cant think of nothing better me'self. Fair play to ya for taking under ya wing........now clip the fecker round the ear for not jumping on the missed rabbit :tongue2: :laugh:

    If your hob is vasectomised then he can bring a jill out of season still, without breeding. If you go the full monty (castration) then he wont be able to service any jills you have if they come into season.......im getting mine vasectomised beacause the jill i have i dont know if she has been done or not and im not waiting till she comes into season to find out :icon_eek:

    How many of you fella's make your own purse nets. I just been watching youtube and really fancy my chances at making a fair few for myself. Im looking at the spun poly....nice and bright and well hardy for all conditions. All i can get hold of over here in the local shop is bisley nets and there not a lot of cop. Even if it took me 4-5 hours when i start i reckon it'd be well worth it in the end.

    best to start with young dogs an young ferrets, but you will break most adults to each other, thing is to get them used to each other then let the dog see that ferret in hole = bunny out of hole, most dogs will click Cheers reddawn

    Im here cause i enjoy hunting and hunting life. i dont belittle or slag people because of there way of hunting or how they hunt. I know i can go out (when want to) and go bag a few rabbits. I mainly hunt alone but do on occassion go with a friend who likes to hunt. But i like reading about other styles of hunting ie: using dogs, fox hunting as ive never done these and i find it a way of extending my knowledge for my own self gain. Everyone on here is here because of hunting. You shoot, you use dogs, you lamp, you decoy but we all hunt. Anyone that is here to be-little others or slag th
