  1. Sounds like the nail was ripped off months ago and now new growth is crooked. I have the same here on one of my young dogs, needs a trim as well...lol
  2. Might be the food you give it? Dry or BARF? As an example, flaked maize in dry food can cause skin irritation for some dogs.
  3. No. Unless you're a gurlie who's ruined her manicure Keep an eye on it, I doubt it will cause any problem imo....It's just like a finger nail.
  4. One of mine damaged a nail and it came off after a couple of days, growing a bit pissed just now and due for a trim to sort it. If your dog has a nail sticking up then it must be broken.
  5. Well, I reckon it's good stuff Millet! I'm sure one or possibly both pups may have had lung worm, too much of a coincidence that there are so many slugs about and Lucy in particular has been showing symptoms of lung worm. After treating with Advocate there was a noticeable difference in her after twenty four hours and back to normal around 48 hours. I shall keep up the treatment to prevent re infestation until the frost gets the slugs.
  6. Of course I won't spend as much as I thought over the year as the cold weather makes the buggers disappear! I called into my local vet today and bought some off their shelf, they were supprised that this prescription drug was readily available. They offered to match the internet price, maybe you could challenge your vet Millet?
  7. I called into the local pet supermarket yesterday to enquire about Panacure 10% and Advocate. The 'worm' nurse/assistant told me that Panacure 10% won't deal with heart worm and advised me that advocate was prescription only...huh!...Just clicked on this link found on this site https://www.discountpetcare.co.uk/home.aspx and purchased a six pack with out a prescription for about £39.00, a tenner cheaper than the local vet. I shall shop around for a better/cheaper supplier as it will cost around £228.00 per year for my small pack, the pups have proven to be good catchers of slugs and I often r
  8. Don't take so many mates with you... Get a sun roof, one to drive one to shoot and one to lamp
  9. It could be a prop shaft UJ. Disconnect/remove the prop shaft and check each joint by hand. Gear box bearing faults do not behave as you described. Hopefully it's something less expensive than the clutch!
  10. Welcomee to the area Blue,...Just stay off my permission... ...That nice sandy soil will rot ya boots!
  11. Hi Hannah,....I agree probably impossible to hold the lamp and take pictures. The idea was to use the lamp whilst relaxing in camp at night to see what is about. A lamp would have been ideal when I was in India as tigers and leopards would come to the water hole barely twenty yards from my lodge during the night and I've no doubt similar viewing opportunities will arise this time in Africa, although I don't think I will see any tigers...
  12. Has any one on here had any experience of lamping 'proper game' (for the purpose of photography of course) on the Mara and similar places? I shall be off on one of my trips in a few weeks and my Nightforce lamp will be accompanying me. Question is. Do you think a red filter will be benificial? I understand the local guides are experimenting with red.
  13. You can borrow my puncture repair kit.... Wait 'til he learns to open the fridge,....and the freezer!...
  14. Nought wrong with beg ears,...all the better to hear with!...Well done Boo !
  15. Very sad to hear your saluki was killed by your rottie !...Have the rottie put down and and learn from your mistake..I could say the obvious but it won't bring your dog back...
  16. Can't see any GSD there myself !....And I can't imagine what a GSD can add to a long dog or lurcher !...I've seen a few deerhound saturated lurchers/longdogs and she looks like she might be a handy mutt when fully grown....Hard to say what she is sitting like that and at a young age.
  17. It's because they are teething, right ear up left teeth coming through and vice versa. Head and face are a mass of nerves. ear nose and throat like us all connected one way or another.
  18. Take him oooop north and run him on some easy rabbits that'll give him confidence....
  19. As has been said all pups play fight/bite. I let mine grab my hands, and I don't pull my hand away as that would probably cause me injury. It's all part of growing up, it gets better when their second set of teeth come through, they aint so sharp...lol.
  20. Blues and brindles....lovely litter, good luck.
