    Good lens that!...Took this picture this evening with said lens, not a good picture as I was in the dark/shadows not expecting to take any pic's and was not on the correct setting for this type of pic. Not too bad if you like flying dawgs!..

    I'm a Canon man! What ever you decide to get shop around on the internet first for the best deal. Buy 'body' only as the standard lens will not do what you want to do. Ask the advise of the sales person and I would also call the Canon helpline (find that on their website) tell them what you intend using it for and they will give you proper advise, re lens, also. Then when you have your best prices go to your local dealer, they want your business and should be able to match or get pretty close to the web price's. Better to deal local imo, you can go back for more advice and help

    No, not a rat trap! Went back up that way this afternoon got some more pictures for you guys to browse over. I noticed a new sign in the area ‘Conservation area etc’… As you can see, bottom left of pic’, it’s at the end of a hedge by a large opening into the field.. Viewed from the opposite angle you can see a large opening through to the other field.. The openings viewed from both sides.. And the view through, as you can see nought has been using this tube! And the view from across the way…

    ...OK boss! It is a straight through tube and on the public footpath, dog shows no interest in it so doubt it's ever been used by game.....yet! I shall take a closer look next time I'm out that way.

    She’s off!..... Good to see an intelligent dog running to get ahead of its prey instead of wasting time running at it.. I didn’t see the rabbit same time as Meg’ but she knew where it was going…. There goes coney with the advantage over Meg’, she’s got to run uphill.. Closing the gap! Nearly gotcha! Didn’t see the strike as they both disappeared behind cover,…followed by a perfect retrieve to hand! Pity she’s not consistent with retrieves,….seems she gets better when the excitement wears off after a few catches!

    Imo 5/8 3/8 is ideal for rabbiting, big enough and fast enough with plenty of stamina to do the job. Have you any pictures of your lurcher? Couple of my Meg', she's 5/8 3/8...

    Dunno about teaching her that longtails are off the catch menue.. ...As for the cat, she will protect it from others but watch her with other cats.. ...As for the ferrets, no problem, put a bowl of milk down for the ferrets ans let your Meg join in!

    ...Getting back on track!.... Never mind chasing plastic bags.. :black eye: . 'Explosive off the mark' is what you need combined with intelligence of course!...Those two attributes are very high on the list imo for a good rabbiting dog. No good having a dumb dog that can't work out what the underground noise means and then being too slow off the mark.. .. Get ready! Go! Gotcha! Ready again!

    Some more action shots from today… Kicking up some dust!....fecked!.. Shame I wasn’t in focus…. Not a bad retrieve with this one…..well fecked!.. Almost an invisible hole where that on bolted too, pulled it out myself as it was trying to get away from the other team member!.... :thumbs-up:

    Good luck Mark!......Does yours chase rabbits as well.. ..thought it was only the rag.. ...kidding!! Next time you're in the area I might take you to this special place, you and your dog have to wear blindfolds of course.. only to be taken off when the rabbit bolts...
