  1. @ Frank, use your moderating powers to sort out the crap threads!.....And can some one tell the young scroats about the spell check button...
  2. Feck the car game... ....Thirtyfour fecking years doing that, second time I was made redundant I decided enough was enough!.. . Got made redundant this time two years back, great time to be out of work.. ..Beating shooting ferreting every day through the season, come the spring I bought a secondhand lawn mower for 90 quid and stuck a card in a shop window...grass cutting etc...never looked back. I now have a busy and successful property maintenance and landscape gardening business all declared to the tax man of course As well as rabbit control so I can claim every expense for ferrets and
  3. Don't use bamboo, not strong enough and you might do your self an injury... Use hazel if you're using the trad' method..
  4. Excellent catch.. And they look nice clean bunnies as well!
  5. My mother board died last week!... ...Was thinking of putting the old girl down anyway ...Got a new bitsa now.. ....
  6. Mega insurance required for railway embankments for obvious reasons. If the farmer doesn't own the land then he can't give you permission to ferret there, you should contact the local council for advice. Good luck..
  7. As you say and well know Chisel, Bull feet aint too good at the best of times, they are not bred for running! Imo the 'good' foot is poor! If you want a dog for fox control then he/she should be able to catch one and do the business, where legal of course..Not the right dog for rabbit or hare..jmo.. ...
  8. Pity every body doesn't get their whelps done... ...Would save a lot of trouble for just a few quid!..
  9. Usually the term 'Dew claws' means the whole digit/thumb and not the claw/nail only.
  10. That's a good thing imo. a dog using its nose! When a dog can't see the rabbit it should use its nose. Remember just because you can see the rabbit at five or six feet tall it doesn't mean your dog can at 20" off the ground
  11. Yes, if it's the charger that came with your kit
  12. Cut your wands and check them every couple of days, easier to bend and straighten 'green' sticks.
  13. Dandy little thing them little Charlie spaniels, if I had to have a 'court' dog it would be one of them..
  14. Doesn't always mean there is death down below, I've had flies come out of my house and the only thing that's died here lately is my arse....especially after a good curry
  15. Two inch spun nylon should do the trick for you, it'll stretch to your prefered 2 1/4" and allow the rabbits head through
  16. Perfect for longnets then! ...Cut/smash through the hedge and run a short net through every ten yards or so, great sport
  17. Very poor muscle formation, or should I say lack of! Cruel to let a dog get like that and just as cruel to try and work it like that!
  18. Years back mate and I dug a ferking great hole and still had to lower his son by the ankles to grab the rabbit... Dug three feet in sand on Sunday then sent the dog in to dig the rest.. wish I had the camera
  19. Some do some don't but it's always best to cautious. My first ever litter of kits were raised successfully with the hob in attendance as I never had anywhere else to put him.
  20. Mine use their teeth! Only need to do mine occasionally in the summer, lack of work means they don't wear down so easy. Long nails are great for running up the twill wire..
  21. Lucky, what does the wheaton offer apart from the coat?.. Sorry to ask what may be a dumb arse question but I don't know the history of wheaton's. Sorley x, I would disagree that "The biggest factor in whether a dog is Great or not is the person behind the dog. They enter and train the dog, they expose it to hunting."....Just my opinion, subject for another thread perhaps. As for "Sadly MOST folks are damned well LACKING and is more wasted potential in dogs out there then there is great dogs."...Some yea but, what about the tyro to the country sports game with their first juckle who has
  22. Cost me twenty quid.. But mine was black.
  23. Cheapness is the worst form of economy!... You get what you pay for so pay good money for a good net..
  24. Bad batch imo. No way should you be able to break hemp for a longnet with a sharp tug. Average rabbit weighs 2lb plus and hitting a net flat out would be travelling at 20/25mph or more, that is one fecking big tug and a longnet holds that kind of strain no problem.
