  4. Life is good!...Business is great and field sports are great!...Had two days fantastic beating in the 'Garden of England' on some fantastic estates. Caught and despatched a vixen by hand, hero of the day.. and a good mornings ferreting this morning, despite a very slow start!
  5. That is a very irresponsible bit of animal husbandry!....Also against the law,...not to mention cruel!...
  6. The dominate hob will take most of the food....and get fat!...Cut their food back, if one gets too thin then seperate them for a while. ...This years kits by chance?
  7. Jeez!...Aint read so much crap for ages! What cruel b*****d would release a domestic animal into the wild just to wander aimlessly about waiting for starvation and death!... Any ferret owner should know a domestic ferret can't fend for itself. If you can't cope with the ferret then do the right thing...fecking wankers!!!...Comments not directed at all, just the fecking numpties..
  8. I use these on my lamping kit, no more problems with the fag lighter socket pulling apart everytime I go through a hedge or fence..
  9. "Patience grasshopper".... ..Like some others have said, wait 'til your whelp is about 10-12 months old . Your pup may be mature in mind but it aint mature in body, I would hate to read a post from you asking advise about 'opening up' or what do I do about injuries etc....Just my opinion of course.
  10. Go for it!...Definately old enough for a days work anywhere..

  12. I have 2 dogs & I was buying a large bag of Winalot in Tesco and was standing in the queue at the till. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting The Winalot Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and the way that it works is to load your trouser pockets with Winalot nuggets and simply eat o
  13. So do I!.... She's a sound hunter and a direct decendant to my albino jill, that many from here and smoochers have had kits from.. Both are stayers and excellent hunters, not the type of ferrets to feck about when there's work to do!...Many thanks to all who helped give me hope...
  14. Mines 13 months and lets out the odd yap if i wont slip her .. ie on fox etc. How do i stop her yapping like this without shouting at her because this might put her off in the future? I think she's trying to tell you,....."Let me at the fecker I'm gonna tear its balls off".. ...I dread seeing a cat when I'm walking my Meg' through the streets on a lead...she's like a kite in a gale..
  15. Like I said, "never lost a ferret yet"... ...She was there waiting for me this morning curled up with half a rabbit I left in the trap for her....Guess that makes me a master trapper now then lads... ..And her collar was still working!
  16. I always thought that working animals had a good long life because they were fed and worked properly, with the exception of a few run to death or near in a few years.
  17. I'll be up with the sparrows tomorrow, if she isn't in the trap I'll run my hob through with a 15' collar. I've never had a collar come loose, but then I've never lost a ferret.. ..More like a deep drop somewhere or maybe a stop end well out from the main bury.
  18. For the first time in twenty years I've lost a ferret.. .... I was working a large open warren with the longnets using four jill’s, plenty of rabbits bolted and all in good enough fettle for the butcher tomorrow. When the bolting stopped I picked up the ferrets as they appeared and waited for a polecat coloured jill to show. After about twenty minutes she popped her head up and immediately disappeared below again, and that was fecking that! ... I searched with the locator and rune another ferret through time and time again but the missing jill still did not show.. Hung around for a couple
  19. Fleas!...As you say Frontline the dog. Might be a good idea to get some spray for the house, from the vet or chemist..
  20. I think you can erect a barn with out planning permision, you could then put your caravan in that... ...Or apply for change of use..
  21. Why do ex-racers have a shorter natural life?
  22. You've answered your own question there scotty..
  23. Take a walk on the land and bang on the first door you come to, you could ask in the local post office/pub. If you get caught rabbiting you could end up in trouble, poaching/trespass etc.
