  1. Gunman,.....Why are you fretting so much? She will be just right for what you want..
  2. Don't use WD40, it's an insulator amongst other things so it will probably make things worse. That solvent from Maplins looks the pukka stuff or you could use methylated spirits.
  3. rubbish a dog does know a gun if it has worked with a gun For some dogs the first time they see a gun it's the last thing they see!
  4. Mine knows what a gun does, come on down for a days sport and you'll see ...
  5. Can you fix it for me Ian?.....
  6. Careful selection should overcome 99% of the problem imo. Fair to say we all make mistakes now and again but in general with the right training and nurturing most dogs will come good. Army selection is a prime example. Bunch of sixteen year old kids apply to join up, careful selection by experienced people should ensure that only suitable candidates are chosen and with the right training they go on to be hero's......just my opinion!
  7. I've had the same problem shell, only since Ian threw his toys out the pram I double click in the screen name box then click on my name and the p'word goes in automatically. There must be a simple way to fix it, probably need to turn my firewall off and then log back in.
  8. No offence meant Wilf but,....If that comment is anything to go by then you obviously know very little about dogs!....Perhaps you made the comment without thinking... ....or perhaps you've only had thick dogs! In answerer to anonymous's question, same as you I keep a dog for life. Had one pts at 22 months due to a serious injury. Meg' my latest lurcher will be five on Monday and she knows what a gun does just as much as she knows what a needle does , pick up the lamp and she's up and ready just like she is when she hears the knokka box as I check my gear in the kitchen prior to an outin
  9. Don't give the dog treats or fuss it just as you're going out!....That's a sure way to make things worse imo.
  10. Two x 10mm x 50mm Thunder bolts (masonry bolts) one top and bottom will suffice. Get them from your local builders suppliers.
  11. Bloody dangerous place to go shooting!.... Two guys using the same land that don't know of the other ....Never mind the fecking cow, it could have been you with a bullet 'tween the eyes Deker
  12. As has been said the reeves is a beautiful bird, also makes an interesting noise when flushed. Another reason for releasing exotic coloured birds is so the keeper can check on bird movement about the shoot.
  13. Faulty goods, take 'em back for exchange.
  14. VET!.. Tails are bad news when damaged as even a small cut can be very difficult to deal with. If the tail gets an infection you have serious trouble.
  15. I bought a small zip-up bag from the local market for a couple of quid. Bit different with my new set up, I now use a pillow case and it doesn't fit in my pocket..
  16. John, when you pocket your camera make sure it's in a dust proof bag. The grit and dust in your pocket WILL get into the camera and jam the zoom.
  17. This supplier is cheaper... http://www.simplyelectronics.net/subcat.ph...CFRyB1Qod81ppPQ
  18. Thanks guys!....Didn't think of Bicarb or coke ...Steredent sounds good but I ain't got to that stage in life yet!...
  19. Now we're into the shooting season again (pheasants) it's time to get the trusty hip flask out of the cupboard and fill with various spirit. I have one stainless steel flask and one pewter flask and they're both a bit gungy inside, both have only been used for various fruit gin concoctions. What is the best way to clean them? ....And yes they're both empty just now..
  20. The more you get out on your own the more confident you will get, with or with out a locator! Little tip, do away with attaching the date to your pictures! You don't need it on your pictures and imo it spoils a good photograph. If you want to know the date you took the picture at a future time just hover your cursor over the image in your picture folder and all the details will show. Good hunting..
  21. What a fecking prick!...You should be banned from here if that's your atitude towards dogs!
  22. Nothing wrong with square nets Will, very few people here have shaped nets..lol
  23. If their back ends are hanging low then they have serious problems imo, your mate should do the right thing and pts imo.
