    Saturday I charged the camera batteries with the intention of taking a few pictures during my Sunday mooch, decided in the end not to bother as a camera can become quite heavy on a long mooch over the South Downs in the sun Little did I realise that there would be a dozen or more running all over the place once I got off the beaten track . Out again today but too many keepers and shepherds wandering about making it impossible to get close for some pictures . However!....     It's the farmers land and if he doesn't want you on it that's his right!...I think some that reckon they can go anywhere would soon get pissed off with people walking through their garden to and fro the shops. Don't get me wrong, I'm no goody two shoes that keeps to the public right of ways, I usually keep out of sight and respect the farmer if they have a pop at me.

    ...Joe, ferrets have teeth mate that's how they deal with a rabbit.. I've given mine dog food on a couple of occasions when I've run out or not thawed real food for the ferrets. A little now and again is OK imo especially if supplemented with carcasses.

    Prairie birds Ali, high plains drifters... .When out night fox shooting the Blue Backs can be found the furthest point from cover and require a lot of dogging in on shoot days.

    Did you ever get involved with 'Michigan Blue Backs' Rod?....They're not very popular round my way as they like to go walk abouts at night instead of roosting in trees.

    I know this might seem a daft question but!....Is there enough fuel in the tank? Sometimes on old motors when the pumps/filters have been changed there can be a problem as you described. The pump may be too weak to put enough pressure through a system that has been drained. Tow it round to the fuel station and squirt twenty quids worth of sniff in the tank and then give it a tug round the houses.

    Agree with you there Jim.. ...Can't believe some of the crap that gets posted on these hunting sites!....The tail is the dogs spine, feck it up and it gets an infection,....bad news. Like it's been said, tails are difficult to deal with even for a vet.

    Some of the advise on this forum regarding animal welfare beggars belief!...Get the fecking dog sorted with someone that knows what they're doing,...like a vet! 'Scabbing over' imo is not the way to get it to heal properly.
