My young pointerx is starting to take the lead over the old girl who’s starting to show her age , gone be hard when she retires , times come to start looking at the next prospect and I’m leaning towards a pure gwp

I had a Russell pup during lock down off a mate he could sold them for £1200 I didn’t have to put my hand in my pocket ! He knows if I bred anything he needed or wanted be the exact same I don’t like money being involved with dogs , I’m scratching at the idea of a getting a pure gwp next summer gone cost me east £2000 crazy really

Totally agree with you , hence Iv got a gwpx and probably stick to them for what I do I need the bigger rangy lurcher , she checks every inch of mountain I’m on I can’t fault them

I think gundogs aren’t used enough in the lurcher world , brings some much to the table ?

You gwp x bitch has hit the ground running this season could see a difference in her through the summer , her day time hunting had been nothing short of spot on and lamping she had a stormer this weekend , it’s been a real eye opener and pushing me to go down the route again as il be sourcing a pup next summer to replace the old bitch ! few shot of her this season so far

It’s absolutely not but a well done on Facebook or good shooting is what they want ! I can go put some cardboard cuts out for them if they want ! I seen a bloke say he shot 360 one season and was moaning he only Shot 71 the next season

Rifles absolutely destroy numbers ! Foxing wise they ruined a spot completely it’s no fit and healthy foxes getting away from a bullet , when a good fox beats a dog or hounds you can’t fault it !

The dog that got stolen was a digging terrier dog , and apprently the dogs collar was found covered in blood in the blokes van a retired dog aswell

Finally starting to realise I’m going to have to replace my old bitch soon the longer walks are taking there toll on her and she’s starting to struggle I don’t think she be able to put two good days in on a weekend anymore she’s a had a couple bad injuries , so Iv got two studs in mind but I’m open to look at other dogs if there’s something different the two I know are both real good dogs and do things differently, I’m looking for something that does bit of everything and has a good nose , or if there anyone breeding a decent litter out of two tidy jack of all trades dogs I might be inclined t
