Well I started looking for a new pup late last year I managed get back in touch with some old mates to get the word round and see what's on the floor well it turned out on of my best mates hasn't got enough work for his bitch and asked me if I wanted give her some graft well not ideal but better than nothing I took her out to a public place I wanted to see what she was like recall etc well let's just say not good so that was one thing work on but one thing was clear she knew what she's bred for. Next trip out was a lamping session the rabbits arnt over running the farm but there's a few about

What batterys does the collar take and where is the best place buy them from.

I thought dogs were once wild then domesticated to pets you say I have no relavence but your post of no they wernt leaves the door open for a manner of suggestion maybe a little more info next time or are you suggesting wild dogs were used as working tools before they were pets??????
-
No they weren't... mine still are granted working but still pets non the less i don't think there's anything worse than treating your dogs any less the saying a dogs for life dosnt mean working life does it any dog I own will live and die with me as a working pet.
-
It's all about putting the time in with a dog let's be honest all dogs were pets once the thing is though you take a chance on things like poor feet bad coat low prey drive etc from a none working home in theory if you buy from a good line of worker to worker bred dogs from a person who knows there stuff they will breed pups to get rid of these faults and in the long run you will get a better chance of this dog making a working dog than one bred from pet stock also I like to know what bloods gone into my dog not just parents grand parents great grand parents etc this not only shows the qualit

There was an earlier thread along the same lines might be worth a look think Its 3 pages in.

Not many grew litters about at the moment ive been looking for a litter for months my mates got one very fast bitch if theres any well bred litters about let me know please.
-
I'm not a bull cross fan but I think them are two amazing examples of the cross.

Bitch did well tonight a few creases iron out but I think with some work she will be a sound catch dog ones things for certain she's fast and turns on a penny downside she tends work up of the lamp I could do with sorting that out any tips would be appreciated.
-
ill try get some pictures not expecting to much as the bitch hasnt done much of late so isnt as proper fit a few squatters would be ideal my mates coming along with his bitch ive been out with her the last few weeks and shes a great little bitch.
-
after tagging on with a few lads these past weeks its safe to say im enjoying my nights out and me taking my time to find the [bANNED TEXT] dog my mate has allowed me take his bitch out as he hasnt got time at the moment went out this morning for an hour make sure she was sound and check here recall and have a general look and was impressed how keen she was well i kept it short because the wind is howling in stoke so were going lamping tonight wish us both luck.

Dont get me wrong mate i wouldnt get rid of a dog myself, but surely a good pet home for a retired worker is better than sitting in a kennel not working? i know where your coming from i just think its heartless how can anyone say they love there dogs when they give them away when they are done with them my mum and dad are getting on now but im not going get a new set in i see a dog as part of the family i lost my last dog years ago im still gutted now and just starting get back into it i honestly feel if you dont have that bond with your dog then you dont deserve it like you say you wouldn
-
Totally disagree if you own a dog you give it a home for life not just it's working life and as for space if you love your dog you would find it that's a big problem with lads today it's orate giving it the big un when your dogs in it's prime catching big bags but when they stop it's f**k that I need another dog.
