that's true neil I think its the anticipation when a terrier goes in and everybody is just listening quietly for any sound and old fox flies out as if he has a rocket up his ass then the chase is on. but I am a firm believer of 1 terrier or dog at a time on fox and hunting in general . im not a fan of bull lurchers although I know a few excellent dog and bitches that work outstandingly on all quarry but I think its the stigma that goes with them that makes me prefare the wheaten crosses as I prefare dogs with long coats for the obvious reasons. I guess the reason I like the strong dogs is t

What Are Border Terriers Capable Of.
BIG G wheton machine replied to jsennitt's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
my brothers got a border bitch and to be truthful he keeps her as a pet, Which is a shame. on a few occasions he has been out with me the bitch has been tried as she's as hard as any dog I've seen ! pinch it. lolololol and theres me thinking marshman could be a non nicking traveller -
Big G, I disagree with the bit where you said "and no matter what people admit too,". There are men who go through the whole of their lives having never had a strongdog or a lurcher present on a dig. They are usual men who are brilliant with their hands and able to use a shovel. If the quarry is to be killed a firearms is used and if the quarry is to be relocated or freed they use their hands or step out of the way to let it by. If the quarry is further up the tube they trench or tunnel on, torch in mouth and slide in on their belly to get the job done. Using a dog to draw is often an excu

when we were growing up and hunting we took th local russells up doubled up and got quite good results. we always took lurchers as we never knew what was at home and no matter what people admit too, when your terrier goes to ground and a fox pops out another hole and you have no dog its a b*****d. that's why I prefare lurchers to strong dogs although I love the wheatens. the lurchers we used growing up was all collie x grey and they worked and drew at the digs no probs, ive only seen 1 strong dog work and he was pit x staff and he was totally mute, great with stock and other dogs and bril

that's a good point. and theres the point I proved froma few posters above, theres no unity in hunting everybody whos into hunting id say % would vote a ban on other types to save their own. how somebody who hunts has the brass neck to call other hunters cruel is something I cant reason too. people need to wake up and smell the coffee and unite and stand together before its too late. I don't deer stalk or hare coarse but id never in a million years condemn it as its part of hunting and what other hunters like. that's where the antis won by the tactic of divide and conquer

i know thw owners must be devastated, but some are going on about losing permo on killing the farm cats, what the owners need to know was their cat just another just let out to run and prob making a nusience of its self. most of the farms we go on are tortured by ferals and OTHER PEOPLES PET MOGGY just let out to run. they ask us to get rid as the fecking things have all sorts. if anybody les their cat out just to run deserves what they get

They would have officially ended with the introduction off the badgers act and all it's amendments that were made over the years, which in turn made everything associated with badgers and hunting etc. illegal. That seems the only reasonable answer to your question. I still rekon that from the badgers act was passed it was that what gave the antis the momentum to bring the ban of 2005. both acts should never have been brought into law. but I guess that's what happened when splits become apparent in the hunting world as a whole. theres always going to be hunters who to save their own sport w

then they weren't GOOD BULLS pal if they were noisy. but hey whatever floats ye boat. Like Women, the dog game? well "it's complicated" guys on here are happy to talk in "Absolutes" about things they may not understand, but they've read about online or in a book, or guys that do understand but are too lazy to expand on here. They shouldn't be so quick to preach that a bull or wheaton making some noise should be destroyed or is worthless. Liam Delaney has a lot to say on here of great value but I think Liam you're being a bit flippant and simplistic on this thread. There's fellas

wtf was his name? Rambo? lol. I think that's a bit hard to believe for 1 if he shot the dogs on the leads with a rifle then he shot at people too as he could not tell how the bullet was going to ricochet and therefor had no safety in mind for the well being of human life so if that's true that farmer should have lost his ticket for dangerous shooting and was lucky he didn't kill somebody

The only info you need at times is the ability to extradite the mutts from unwanted situations, dogs hunting about will often come across the less than desirable inhabitants of our green and pleasant land.Kick the mutts off and move on,hopefully unseen by nosey bloody bunny huggers.Learn to run fast or know how to cope with any given situation, better still, sit on the lap top and pretend. that's true and im sure its happened to many a hounds mn or busher, at some time. maybe better to the teach the dogs the way of the intercepting fist hahahaha

They would argue that the dog was out of control. If a dog accidentally kills something then it isn't under your control is it. I completely agree accidents happen, but this would be one argument the prosecution would come up with. well when your on permission then hows the dog out of control, when your working for fox, how do you break them to badger if your not allowed near one?? Don't shoot the messenger pal. I'm just telling you how i think it would go down. "Sorry your honour, we were after foxes". "Oh silly doggies. You may leave the court room. No Charges". may
