Seen similar threads in the past, but Been offered a job, close to home, but at a good bit less ££ than I'm currently on. Had a few things over the years that I wouldn't have had without the ££, but getting fed up with it all. Worked away from home for 20+ years. What are your thoughts? Daughters desperate for me to work at home..................................so we can finally get the dog! Good and Bad to both options........it's just the deciding that's hard.... Cheers.

10 Years Extra Life.v.no Alcohol/ciggies/drugs/coffee.ect

Been off the woodbines now for 7 weeks, and counting them at £10/Day I've now rounded up a tidy wee sum. Sickens me to think what they've cost over the last 20 years! Had FAR too much vodka on New Years Day, and still not feeling right yet. Think I'd rather have the quality rather than the quantity to be honest, but now we have the kids running about, I've got to thinking I'd like to be around as long as I can,so long as I am able to carry on without being a burden to them. Used to have a bit of a 'f**k it and see' kinda attidute, but old age is kicking in I fear. 10 Less years, but a -
They are fly ba**ards with dates tho eh... Go to the shops a few weeks before in an attempt to miss the crouds.........most of the dates are 22-23rd Dec........Bothers me not a jot! but, pleanty it does.

My wife will already have bought a pile of that stuff you've seen. Those 'Tesco' Cards sometimes do a deal on 'points' (?) - That's when we see a pile of small bits and pieces for friends kids and stocking fillers arriving through the door. They can lie quite happily in the loft from June or so...

Credit has it's place...No doubt about it. BUT, As has been mentioned, it's the people who can least afford it who are being 'Targeted' by these companies. I could go out and spend an African Nation's food allowance Tomorrow on all the cards I have ammassed over the years (Handy to have for work etc), BUT, At the end of the day, it has to be paid back! - Regardless who has taken the credit, it's not their money! Back to comment in Original post Re-Christmas, If times are that hard, DON'T go getting yourself in sh*t just 'cos you feel you need to buy Aunty Mabel that cashmere jerse

Agreed! It was scary to me that they were willing to offer so much! Easy to see how some people can get so easily duped tho! Fair enough sittin speakin' with the guy, all smiles and roses, but, You buy a £200k house... It's no bungalow, so it needs heating...more heating than you may have been struggling to pay before. It has more lights that will get left on... Bigger floors, which need bigger carpets... Bigger spaces, which need bigger / more furniture....... It's quite possibly in a 'fancier' area, so, you obviously then need the 'fancier' car to sit outside... Which then drink

But I bet she can suck the crome off of handle bars! Wouldn't know.......

It's fearsome what they will offer you once they know you. About 10 years ago we were looking at moving house, so, off we goes to see Mr Banker. At the time, I was paying what I thought was a sh*t load of cash on a £40k house. Walked out of there with the offer of an ADDITIONAL £200K!! MENTAL! When we did finally move house, the payments were still scary to me, and that wasn't on a fraction of their £200k! Know a young couple who are up to their necks right now. Not got 2 brass farthings to rub together, despite the guy working Offshore. But, she has always got the latest

Cheers, I'll take a look at doing that. Like I say, totally computer dafty, so might take me a while tho.

Thought I would build a decent one a few years ago, but by the time you buy all the materials etc, and the time taken I would say it wasn't worth the hastle. Yes, the one I made was decent quality compared to some of the stuff on the go, but it wasn't the cheap option.

I will end up doing that yet, but doesn't cure whatever is F**ked tho!

Hello Folks, Typing this on our Lap Top, which is working fine. Our Desk Top however seems to have died! I wanted onto it 'cos it's hooked up to printer etc, but it virtually refuses to do anything, or at least it is painfully slow to open up anything, and refuses to open attachments, which is what I need to do, and print off etc. If worst comes to worst, I can get this thing hooked up to printer....eventually, but regardless, we need to try to get the other one working. Does anyone know of any tricks / tips to a quick fix for me? Cheers. I am a COMPLETE computer Dafty, so

I would say yes. Just last week we were discussing this, so we typed in names, and I think it was Yell 192 or something came up with basic details, and for a small fee you could find out a lot more.

I made a thing from some old Brush shafts and a bit of 4"x2" for holding the boots. Bored the 4x2, shoved in aprox 8" bits of brush shafts @ 2-3" Intervals and Hilti'd it onto the wall. Boots slip in Upside down - Perfect. I also stuck a plank across the top, so when I'm going in / out of the house, I have somewhere to set down my coffee cup.

3 Weeks - From 1 Ham......Now that's clever. You're as bad as me! Do you hang out your Tea bags to dry too?

That's the worst part. It was only a couple of miles from here. If she'd called me at the time I probably could have found them. A wild-eyed thug in a hoodie isn't much to go on 4 hours later. Boils my piss. I bet he wouldn't have done anything to a bloke on a bike, but a 5'3" woman seems fair game. Know what you're saying. Would it be worth a wee run round the area at similar time in the next few days maybe? Did she say if she thought she'd recognise the f**ker if she saw him again? Pure C**TS!

Congratulations Hot Meat, all the best! What did I get..... NO Idea yet! Get home Tomorrow, but Mrs Me has visitors lined up, so Christmas Day for me will be on Monday. Hope everyone had a good time, had no internet 'till we got ashore last night, so missed out the whole Christmas thing. Managed to get a phone call on Christmas Day, so through the chaos I got a few words with the kids and Mrs me.

Hilti a few sticks along your walls just below your coping, get a post in just about where your dog's standing, frame it up and put up a few sheets of Profile / corrugated sheeting.

5 Weeks, and 1 day off the fags with the aid of an electric chanter looking thing. If I can get shot of it this next year, that'll be me happy! Try to secure new job. Fed Up with being away from everyone for the sake of a few ££.

Like anything else when they come out with this kinda sh*t, the f**kers that it is aimed at won't care, won't adhere, and all others suffer.
