  1. Aye, Now, I like that! But, you dinna see any advertised around our way for that kinda ££. Word of mouth / keepin my lugs open I suppose might get me one like that. I'm not too bothered about all the tickets etc, just lookin out for a dog (like someone mentioned) with a little potential. Not after a prize winner tho. It's the Joe Bloggs' wanting almost as much as a reputable place that gets me. Like I say, not in the position to buy one yet as I work away a lot, but just having a sniff about to see whats what and getting bits and pieces pulled together.
  2. Doing all my Homework and preparation for a pup (be a while yet tho) and have been looking at what people are charging. How can your average every day, run of the mill spaniel cost in the region of £450- £550, While Buccleuch have theirs advertised at £650-£750. NO Expert AT ALL on dogs, having never had one, but when you see a reputable place like this asking little more than J.Bloggs down the road it makes me wonder why people think they can ask that kind of money? You hear the stories of people paying a LOT more than these sums, but for an average working man, I'd immagine it's wor
  3. Neither- Landrover! Cheapest to repair! Either a Defender or if Mrs is using it too, a Discovery - Bit more comfort. If it was purely for a crawling about shooting wagon, I would have said an old series <1974 No Road Tax, take loads of abuse and the expensive parts are less than £100.
  4. Can anyone enlighten me on this - 'From 2013 anyone wishing to set a snare MUST be accredited'. (From BASC Web Site) Any snare, only Fox snare, why, how much, where, by whom, and when??? And the benefit of said accreditation would be???? - Just getting to use them?? Appologies if this has been covered before, but I had a look about and couldn't find anything.

  9. I've got 2 like this, (still in their toys,) They work ok. Because they are still in their toys (a chicken and a cow!) I find you can vary the noise they can make. Obviously not so handy if you're out on foot, but they stow away fine above the windscreen of the old landy
  10. Many moons ago when I was young, there was an old 'farm' dump beside us up an old side road. We were out with pellet guns looking for crows, doos and the like and at the dump there were a few BIG rats there. Not as big as that last photo, granted, but I'd say easily around the size of the one posted originally.
  11. Same here, I applied for shot gun 1st, and when he came around to see me I explained I planned to get rifle in a few years time. He said just go for them at the same time and save myself some ££. He's since been back for re-newall and he's always been very approachable.
  12. Received DVDs very fast. Very pleased with service and quality. Excellent!

  13. Hello, Chewed to bits ?? Any Photos? Wouldn't think they'd be 'chewed', at least not regularly!
  14. We find Scone a good day out, for all of us (including a 3 and a 5 year old) Yup, some things cost a few £, but what doesn't now a'days. Not a golfer or a football freak, and look at what that can cost these people every other week. Due to work I can only catch Scone every 2nd year, with Moy in between. We make this our 'holidays' as I work overseas and when I'm home, I really couldn't care less what happens beyond our own gate. Don't relish the thought of carting bag fulls of stuff on a plane with the daughters for a few Hrs / weeks! Maybe lucky, but our kids are delighted with the variety th
  15. how come am geting an 11 month old part trained springer for the same price you want for your pups and i have no worries about what ftch and all that shit as have seen the dog work and do what i want. oh yes am in uk hopfully not too much longer and thats only the going rate for greedy cnuts Or it's the going rate for every fooker? As mentioned Cockers are quite sort after so the price goes up with demand. That's the same in everything in life. Which part of the country are you getting your Springer from? Here it's about £300/350 but in Wales i've seen a few £150/£200. Depends on the ar
  16. Same Here, Winchesters work far better with mine. I also noticed that 'dull thud' the CCI makes, and some of my 'targets' were out like yours, In all directions! Back among the winchesters, Sorted! FYI, Mine doesn't have the band either. There's a Ruger site somewhere that allows you to download the entire manual, and I'm sure there's a P/No. / Model / Description page in there somewhere.
  17. Thanks Folks, Told you I was slow on the up take. I assume the thing to do now, is to go trawling through the other pages... Hopefully I'll be on a little more frequently than I have. Hope everyone had a good New Year.
  18. Hello all, New to this, so might be a bit slow on the uptake. I'm from North of Aberdeen, 1st Left after the Waltons.
