  2. vosa will check the standard of repair there is no way they would let a bad repair on the roads you can just imagine how much shit would hit the fan if you had a crash after leaving a vosa check and you car falls in half they go through them like i've already said, i used to buy Q reg's years ago and do them up i've been for more vosa checks than dental checks but when i went in they new the job had been done properly I've done a few myself, Last one never even came off the trailer! Worked at a garage too, and seen many a car coming in that I personally wouldn't allow on the ro
  3. VIC Check by VOSA doesn't have anything to do with the standard of repair. The paperwork clearly states that. It is merely a check to confirm the vehicle is the same one that was smashed. Just so you don't go and pinch one and swap No. plates and the like. Cat C need a VIC check, as do some Cat D. In the same position as you myself just now, hoping I can buy vehicle back. Some of the quotes to repair are criminal. Someone has said modern water based paints are expensive......Very much so, and they are a bitch to apply, not impossible without a booth, but nothing like good old 2 pack
  4. Yup, Know a farmer who had 20 odd taken from a field where the 'neighbour' is a policeman! So brass necked, Daylight, Big Float, up to the gate and loaded them up!
  5. Only thought about giving up the syndicate, not the shooting. Been in a small syndicate the last few years, but I've seen less to shoot at on the 'shoot days' than I've often seen just out for a walk about. One of the others in the syndicate thinks himself 'The Boy', and he's getting on my wick! Don't get out as much as I would like, but wouldn't give it up.

    Nothing here in Luanda
  7. Guy I worked with moved over to Bulgaria.....By his accounts, it sounds great...and cheap! VERY Cheap. Noticed a programme on TV one night, all about a bit that was going all touristy, and getting f***ed up. Where my mate is, is out in the country, photos looked amazing, and it actually sounded too good to be true. He is WAY out in their sticks tho. Good luck, Good on ya for giving it a go. TV Programme was on about Dodgers scamming people buying a 2nd / Holiday home.

  10. Not so good. That will restrict you somewhat.
  11. Do Tiling for other folk then. They Charge an absolute fortune up our way! I bet I could have paid to get you up to Aberdeen and done the job for less than some of the quotes we got!! In the end, a mate's Dad in the same kinda position to yourself did it at a more 'humane' cost.
  12. I do, Was it a roustie's job you were after, or anything offshore? Lots of work out there just now, but same old catch 22 situation....All wanting experienced men, but very few of them willing to give anyone a chance to get that experience! If you know someone already in the industry, get speaking with them....they will be your best bet. It's certainly not all it's cracked up to be, and far from what you see on TV / Movies!!! So many variables - different type rigs / countries / job positions and titles....... Good luck though, much as we all moan about it, there's no escaping the fa

  17. That would all depend on who was building it, My mate built the one I have whilst I did the labouring for him. We bought a few pallets of blocks, and a few Tons of sand and we / he had it built in a few days. Labour costs ..... a few toasties for lunch and a few cups of coffee! Windows sourced from local paper and walls built to suit., and I made the door to suit the hole we left out. The Groundwork can have hidden costs. When you start digging out the foundations you may find yourself going much deeper than expected to find 'hard' ground. You may come across water / drains / cables et
  18. I'd give him about 15 seconds to live down here in Luanda. If there's a space, every f*cker HAS to get to it! Chaos.

Hello Cammy, No, well, not live ones! Wasn't thinking at the time when we built it, Glorious Summer days, making good headway.....needed sheet fast to get job finished. Along comes winter, and everything inside gets f**kin soaked anyway!! Got a few rolls of Glass wool lying around spare, but it's horrible stuff, especially above you! Might just suffer it for a morning, get it in there and stick up a sheet or 2 of ply to keep it there. Lab - Where did you get it from? Builders merchant / specialist Doods? Is it an aerosol deal, or do I need a gun for the compressor? Ch
