No confrontation to speak of. Used a whistle since day 1 basically, and she's picked up on it over the months, so never really had to train that into her, it has been taken onboard naturally. Good blast on the whistle usually calms her down, and like I say on the lead, Perfect! Barely breathe through the whistle and she's doing what she should. Off the lead, and that's it all over! She may be snapping at my hands, and I've noticed over the last 3-4 days, if she crosses the lead and gets it between her front legs she is NOT happy and goes like mad to get it out. Not sure if anything may

Mine was what I had on a stock car number plate. If you read it fast...... The other one I used was O U R 2L8.

Evening All, I have a 10 month old ESS which I have been trying to do my best with. On the lead she is almost text book, with the exception of pulling a bit on occasion. Let her off the lead, and it's like Jekyll and Hyde! Not only that, when she finally does come close, she will snap and snarl when you try to get the lead on. When you do, she's back to being good as gold. The other thing she seems to have developed is not releasing anything! A few weeks ago, she was not too bad, the odd wobble, but I was putting it down to her being a pup, and I didn't want to push her too far. Wh

New Rules??? Not been on the go for a while......what's been happening? See a great spiel at the top of the page, is that new? Got me a new job, working at home now..................a lot!!

No mention of how long this has actually been going on for.. Given his job, is it possible he's seen some bad sh*t and 'tied it in' to his own family some how?? Bottle of wine a night doesn't seem tooo bad, it's not un common to hear of people consuming that amount. On the other hand, the bottle of wine is maybe all you are seeing. Maybe he has more en-route home / lunch time etc? Sounds like 'something' is gnawing at him. Good luck with the situation.

Thanks folks, Some food for thought there... Cheers.

The coming into season option was mentioned by a friend, but I thought she was too young, but maybe no. Had thought on the 'teenage' thing, but again, thought it was a little early. We'll persevere as we are and see how it pans out. Thanks for all the replies.

Will do. I thought I had. Never 'trained' her yet, just the 'structured play'. Sure she'll turn out fine (Hope so anyway), I was just curious why things had changed basically overnight. Cheers.

Thanks folks, I have been very conscious of trying not to do too much too young, but perhaps I have. Maybe I am just expecting too much from her. She has been very good 'naturally' without any formal training as such, but now, just as we are about to start picking up the pace a bit, she has started to play up. Really don't want to create any problems, as it'll be enough work training her without that! Might just be down to her age or expecting / trying too much.

These last few weeks my pup, 6 months old has turned to rat sh*t! She was very good, walking along side us, came back when you whistled, just what she'd heard when going to feed her, throw a sock or a tennis ball, straight back, no worries. These last few weeks, she's been ignoring EVERYTHING, runs the opposite way, just about the opposite of everything you ask her to do. What's happened these last few weeks? 1 night last week, no problems, everything perfect. Today, I might have well been trying to get a goldfish to perform.... Nothing has changed (that I know of), so what's goi

I've been on the look out for a pup for a while now, and been doing all the homework you'd say, reading up about this and that, and I'd came to the conclusion, that to someone like me, a regular Joe Bloggs, I didn't feel the papers were of any great benefit. We duly set out to find a pup, and went to see some that had no papers. The guy selling them didn't fill me with much confidence, and he was a bit pricey for your run of the mill 'dog'. By sheer chance, we discovered an All Singing, All Dancing Pedigree pup relatively local, and set out to see it. It came from a Field Trials trainer, an

Not sure if you would say 'clever', but she is certainly 'fly'! Treats - Daughter had me looking at an array of s**te in Tescos the other day, and My mother appeared with some 'sweetie' things today that are "OK for puppies".............. I was of the thinking that I should avoid these kinds of things..If no, what one/s would you reccomend are ok to give her, how much, and how often? What about the likes of pigs ears? Yes / No, 1 a day / week? Cheers.

Thanks very much for the reply. She is getting a lot of 'socialising' through the day. She would sit in the middle of my garage door all day if we didn't have to leave the house at all, mention 'bed', whoooosh! Obviously a bright dog, try not saying it then? Not sure on your set up here with your mention of the garage door etc. This can have a big bearing on things, if you shut a dog in a garage attached to your house while people wander about and chatted etc. through the wall then I should expect trouble. An outside kennel were it can smell the smells and here and see the birds, insects
