I'm in the market for a pup at the moment.
Now,
I don't mind paying a 'fair' price for the right dog. But,
I would just as happily home a less 'fancy' dog at the 'right' price.
What really gets on my wick, is your Joe Average from the housing estate along the road asking serious money for what can be little more than 'accidents' when his dog got in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I fully understand and appreciate that for the genuine guy he has expenses to consider.
Which brings us back to the Original Question.....What is a Fair Price to pay?
Average Mutt...£?
From 'Go
Hello,
Well, I'm more novice than you!
Don't have a dog yet atall, but got a shiny new kennel, bowls, leads, books, dummies etc all standing by ready.......
Wait till you hear some of the stotters I come out wi!
It's insured when it's on my jeep, but not when it's sitting at home!
S'pose it covers you should it come off and damage something / some body.
I'll get Mrs Me to look into those others, and I've just been having a quick squint at Datatagging it.
I'd be f**ked without her, so can't see a trade in happening any time soon......even if she's struggling with this particular issue
To be honest Baw, I'm not sure if Mrs Me tried them or no.
I'll FWD to her and see what happens.....She is our administration / financial / daily duties co-ordinator
I do know she was on Google and had phoned various companies over a few Hrs with no success.....Hence My Post.
She was also looking into the Datatag thing (as it was on the News article I mentioned), but unsure what happened there.
I know there was a look of disgust by the time she walked away from the phone that morning tho.
They said No when we enquired, I would have thought it would be easy enough, but proving otherwise for some reason.
It's worth more than my f**kin car, but can't get it insured.
1st stop after Car and House.........No Go!
Could try the 'Horse' option Baw, Getting the impression it's easier if you are a farmer / stables / garage etc...
Has anyone tried to insure a trailer?
Have made enquiries via Home and Car Insurance Companies, and also more local Companies, and no one will insure it.
It's insured whilst being Towed on the motor, but not whilst sitting at the house.
I know of people who have theirs insured through their 'Company' Insurance (Garage Owners) and there was a big thing on the news about Rural thefts on the news the other night saying make sure your equipment is insured / secure etc. but they won't insure it!!!
Interested to see if anyone on here can guide me towards a particular Company / way ar
Like your style
Same thinking as myself, but NO Way there's going to be anything around our way for that kinda ££.
Spoke with a guy the other day, lookin for £450 for Springer / Cocker cross.
Not out to make a killing off pups or have shelves full of trophies myself, just want a dog that can do it's job, and let me have a go at training it....That could be the hard part.
iv already thought of that but my insurance on this particular car is £264 a month on my last ford ka it was £158 so too much, the thing is iv no insurance left on it and its parked outside my house on the street, and these days unlike the old days Ithe car not only needs to be taxed but insured aswell,
!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you're worried about losing a few £hundred on the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I'm confused.
Should I be looking for something with all the FTC bumph, or no?
Are they 'easier' trained or worse to train?
Do I look for a pup from good 'working' stock or FTC etc etc.
Just got my kennel up the other week, and ready to look for a pup in the coming weeks. Totally new to dogs, so excuse my ignorance.
Surely it was declared Cat C when it went through auction when you bought it ?
The auction beside us makes you state so when you enter them.
Better trying to sell it private if you can. Cat C doesn't necessarily mean it's been f**ked....but everyone will think it has been.
Done a few over the years, mainly for Myself to run about in, and by the time it's that age it generally makes little difference to value.
It will drop to a price where that's what you'll get, Previously damaged or no.
You are a bit optomistic for a Cat C of that age, but someone may pay it.
Despite what you have spent on it, it's still just a Clio of that age. It wouldn't have been worth anything without a gearbox.
Definately advise of Cat C status, Up front, put it in Advert....That way, absolutely no argument from buyer afterwards.
Fix it. You have it anyway, so why go spending ££ on another one.?
Mate's one packed in after a night or 2 out, but luckily mine has been ok.
If you want shot of it tho, I'll give ya a tenner for it
As Above, But not from a Garden Centre....They offer you a weaker concentrate....Much more expensive too.
Try and get some of the 'real' stuff from a farmer, or farm supplier...Much more potent!
Mate moved to France a few years ago, and he likes a dram or 2.
I believe they have some 'Test' they do before you can get a liscence?? Think that's what he said.
Think it's a similar check to what I had once (Totally different circumstances) and I was told 35+/- whatever it is, was about the 'norm'
The guy in France was worrying 'cos his reading was around 300!
Whilst speaking to a 'local' out in France, story goes this old guy said 'Don't worry about it, My count is 3000odd!'
Not sure what in involves, but they can tell from some Blood Count if / when / how much (ish) you've been necking over the last few weeks / months.
May not be taking blood from ya, so maybe this is some useless information.
Canna mind if it's your kidney or your liver it's connected with, but they have a good idea of what you've been up ti.
