    Like it or not the sport as given us the greatest ever canine warrior in the bulldog, without it the pitbull wouldn't even exist and the dog world would be in a much poorer state Are you for real?? Dog fighting is what brought us the APBT! Without it the breed would have been just another useless showdog. I believe the sport shouldn't have been outlawed. if it was ran like the Japanese do it, with proper medical care and professional run clubs I can't see a problem.     Is it a crime to post your opinion this forum now? I think when they are pro dog fighting its fecking daft, especially when idiots post links to dog fighting vids. Aint you ever thought what this kind of publicity does to hunting? Fair point but to fight such bans both sides of the coin should be shown. The sport is no doubt brutal, but cruel? There are idiots outhere in any hunting sport but that doesn't paint the whole picture. Nice name by the way

    Mine was trained to jump but I must admit he did have a nasty accident, we came to a barbed wire fence which he could have got under but he chose to jump it, his style when jumping fences was to sort of spring off the top of the fence or gate, this particular fencing was very loose and when he went to spring off it he got tangled on the barbed wire. He was left hanging by the shoulder with his back legs barely touching the ground, I tried to free him but his skin was wrapped around it so tight it was impossible, I decided on running to my grandads house to get some cutters and told him to stay

    I knew about doubled up coursing just was unsure of the single matches. I bet lesser dogs have won matches due to the nature of the slips, though it takes a good dog to reach that stage. Are dogs run every other day?

    What decides the winner? Is it when one dog misses a hare and the rival makes a kill? Or is it the best of 3

    Load of rubbish mate, I've seen dogos throw pits about like rag dolls and getting holds easily but when the going gets tough the bigger dogs start quitting. Don't believe the fairy tale that little dogs get underneath the big dogs and grab the throat, being the taller dog is an advantage as he can hold the shorter dog at bay and really work on him, the shorter dog is left grasping thin air. It's the heart that is the deciding factor in most contests and it's the pitbull that as got bucket loads!

    Don't believe everything you hear, agility isn't what makes the pit bull the number one box dog in the world, gameness is what sets it apart from the other breeds. Don't believe for one second that the dogo didn't succeed as a fighting dog because of its agility

    They are not a pure fighting dog as dog fighting isn't the sport they were bred for, true if you get certain dogs that are dog agressive they will be very hard to beat

    they are origioanally fighting dogs their jaw structure is square shaped at the front so when it grips it will not let go the breed to make them is over 13 dogs to get them were they are today,not 1 dogo has been reported to have attacked any one they banned them just because of their instinct to kill its 100% wrong!! if thats their case they should ban rotweilers,dobermen,alsation ect they have all attacked and killed people but they are still around today,i own a doberman hes lovely just very protective gets on great with the dogo when they pass each other but ny dog in rong hands is dangero

    If no other running dog can out last the saluki then why is the linebred longdog the preferred dog for the fens? I could understand the choice of faster linebred dogs if the comps were hare coursing matches, but these are single handed hare catching shows
