  5. there are times when flapping your gums and running your trap off is undesireable like now dogfox what you decide to do is your own business and as one poster put it you can not tell another lurcherman what to do. but exercise a bit of common sense like keeping your opinion to yourself all posts do like this and the one i have quoted is give enemies the ammo they need to bring us down. if you have something that is desireable then people will cater to supply it creating your own worst enemy with third rate dogs flooding the market breeding for profit and SFA else with claims made for t
  6. no vet worth his salt wil put an healthy dog down unless its clased as dangerous. i recall the nazis adopting this kind of method during WW2 and look were that got them.?? there are extreme circumstances were you may have to destroy a dog on the spot serious injury but then and only then if you have the means to do the job as quickly and humanely as possible the subject has been touched on briefly and thats that. i think some people shouldnt be allowed to keep goldfish let alone a dog and if the numbers of dogs they have had is anything to go by they will get a few good uns its t
  7. your wrong the vast majority of dogs are dumped thats why the dogs homes are full of them. if you as an individual are prepared to fork out the money for what you deem is a sub, standard working dog to be destroyed fair enough. but to think that other people will pay money to destroy there dogs when options like dumping them and bullshitting are available is naive to say at the least. why pay pay X amount to destroy a dog when you get away with paying SFA when you can dump it and actually get the chance to sell it to a gullable person bullshitting all the way its worth . and like i said how d
  8. how do you determine what will make the grade at what age.?? as an example at what age are you saying a dog that does not make the grade should be put down.?? to be honest and do not take it the wrong way certain breeds and in some cases from the same litter some dogs/bitches would be slower or faster to mature than others.? how do you determine the grade and what do you mean by it.?its a daft question to be honest as my opinion is you only get out what you are prepared to put in, you may get a bad dog period.!!. but the majority of the time is it not the owners expectations or past experience
  9. there are plenty of them mate believe me had mine three weeks today to be honest you only get out what you are prepared to put in like anything else if you work at it ,it will payoff but to various degrees if a dog has top breeding and comes from a reputable bloke fair enough even a fool can turn a silk purse into a sows ear whatever the breeding. if memory serves me right another prolfic dog breeder was ginger french a mate of mine said he had upwards of a 100 dogs.?? so did he get to exercise all them.? i only found out that plummer had popped his clogs last week as an owd mate told me but i
  10. was wondering if this line of lurchers is still going. i know he wrapped up a few years ago breeding but was wondering did anyone take over the mantle to keep this line going a mate of mine had a brindle bitch of him a fair few years ago and i had the privilege of going out on quite a few occasions with this fine bitch excellent all rounder day and night and even had the luck to take her out a few times on my own on the lamp gifted with blistering pace never charged up the lamp never a mark on the rabbits, and brilliant with the ferrets and marking as well. tried to cover her with my old all r
  11. ] no worries its because the groove is part of the barrel design that causes the problem they should be able to sort it out . correction the innova mounted over the breech but they are identical guns
  12. had both guns and didnt seem to have problems with scopes mate try differant mounts as there cheap and try a gunsmith. be carefull as you can actually damage the gun breaking it away from the scope mounts seen it happen also the guns are the same except the stock. and if the seals go you can use various others if you go to a company that sells seals as thats what i did especially heat resitent ones. there are still a few guns out there and a guy in lancashire used to have tons of parts mail order if you modify iy be carefull as you can actually damage the pumping arm bending it by over pumping
  13. just to let you know sooty [his new name] is doing fine, putting on weight and starting to run a little bit, house training nearly sorted and brilliant with the wife and kids will post a few pics on my lads youtube channel[he plays modern warfare 2 /3 lol ] etc may try him on the lamp next autumn still very nervous of other people and dogs especially when on the lead but have plenty time as he is still a pup and why run before you can walk so to speak. he is a theiving git as he keeps pinching the bread bin no doubt from when he was a sray etc he eat two warburton toasties a milk roll and 8 b
  14. 25 to the shoulder measured him. like i said he is still a puppy nervous but hopefully will grow out of it given time and patience i have had lurchers all my youth and was into the ferreting lamping etc when younger. my last dog died at 15 about 9 years ago then got married had kids etc etc. i aint to sure its a greyhound no tattoo in its ear and for a dog 25 is small to the shoulder could be wrong i know just going off looks etc . just trying to settle him down in the kitchen as i type and got the goggle box on hope he likes MOTD, kids arent helping think i am a tight git just going in every
  15. to bring everyone up to date a aquired a rescue dog the kennel says it is greyhound but i doubt it very much not tall enough 25 26 max at shoulder. maybe whippet greyhound or a lurcher x lurcher cross has he has a very sharp snout .he is 12 month old dog who has the temperemeant off a bitch or a dog much older, and is placid and gentle and brilliant with the kids. if it ever catches my dinner is irelevant but by the state of his ears he has eithier been worked to soon or maybe worse.??? point is i have given him a home and the kids love him and he hasnt got as far as i can be sure a bad bone
  16. i am after a dog or bitch good with kids [2 boys 12 and 9] anywere from 8 to 12 months old working ability irrelevant. have had plenty experience in the past with lurchers working with lamp ferrets etc. but one now mainly wanted as a pet companion and for taking on walks. before anyone chews my arse. in my opinion its better to give a dog /or bitch a stable home then do the meery go round of various homes to end up dumped on the streets. preferably stock steady but a good even temperment with kids is an absolute must!!!. most lurchers have but the odd 1 dont. i am willing to pay your price com
