  1. Stan: used for ratting and bushing, a real character. . Obedient and good with ferrets too
  2. That's a very similar injury to the one my dog inflicted on my mothers terrier last summer,I think it cost me over £200 to have him stitched! I think there could be some truth in the "angry when not working" notion, although the culprit in my case is always nasty. .
  3. I've said it before & i'll say it again 'a good boxer will always beat a good fighter'. Like him or hate him he's fought the best & 'no his 0 won't go'. Yes, certainly a good rule in general. . More often than not the case, but now and then the unexpected happens. . I fancy the ginger kids chances, but as said, wouldn't put much money on it!! Looking forward to September for a couple of reasons now! ;-)
  4. Mmmm yes I'm back. . . Too much bait to resist! Nice to have you on the thread satan80, you certainly know your stuff - stick around! As I've said many times previous, Mayweather's skills are like gifts from the gods, enought to make a failure like me sick. . But I know that there is more to boxing than skill and speed, not that Mayweather lacks in any other departments. . But I can't possibly compare him with the welterweights of the 80's, Leonard, Duran, Benitez and Hearns had each other to test themselves against and not mention other legendary fighters, Hagler for one. . Mayw
  5. I think I'm gonna leave this thread be until nearer the time, September 14th is a little way off. . and if I spent the next 3.5 months elaborating on how I think Alvarez can beat Mayweather, I'm gonna look a bit silly if Floyd wipes the floor with him!!
  6. My thoughts pretty much exactly. Alvarez is like a younger, fresher Cotto, who gave Floyd a real fight. Cotto set somewhat of a blueprint to be effective against Mayweather, use angles to close the gap, head on chest, combination punching and finish on the left hand, which exposed the weakness in Floyd's Philly shell defence when on the ropes, he got caught over and over leaning back to his right. Problem is, Floyd looked to have adapted against Guerrero, didn't back up to the ropes, span off on angles back to centre ring, didn't get lazy and dictated behind his back hand like normal. Alva
  7. No gnash, I see the logic, as much as I don't like Khan, he is as fit as fiddle and throws punches in bunches for fun, although I would fancy Mayweather to smash his glass jaw in 3/4 rounds! :-/ . . As said, no fighter is ever going to be a good enough tactician to dethrone Mayweather. . The only way I think to beat the man is to physically bully and outwork him. . Easier said than done! Alvarez is the most dangerous fighter withing 2 weight divisions, so Floyd, finally is fighting the best fighter available. . Roll on September! And yes, not an impossible scenario at all that GTE. . I co
  8. And apparently the fight has been made at a catch weight of 152lb. . Not sure of the significance of that though. .
  9. Mmm good points made inan. . But essentially it's the points in the latter end of your post that makes me think he could be more than a match for Mayweather. . Ha saying that, I haven't seen the full fight lawrence. . Although Alvarez's dip in stamina did concern me. . Saying that, Trout looks a strong fighter. . Gnash, I don't know whether its the fact that I think the mexican boy is that good or whether its because i don't rate Mayweather as highly as some. . Mayweather has skill in abundance, as much as any fighter to ever lace on gloves. . But I don't think he's fought the best a
  10. I do think a perverted animal like him should be put to death via a public stoning. . Life in a British jail doesn't seem a fitting punishment for the terror he must have put the poor girl through. . Still, the judge did the best he could, good on him.
  11. Austin Trout is no mug, 26 and 0 before Alvarez. . Will be a good fight for sure.
  12. Well, I'll say this, Mayweather surprised me taking this fight. . Canelo is a young, hungry Mexican. . Bigger and stronger than Mayweather. . I'll be expecting Floyd's 0 to go. . Been watching Alvarez for some time, I think He's the real deal. If Mayweather shows good in this one, hats off, he belongs with the best. . This is the test I've been waiting for.
  13. Haha. . Brilliant Baw. . Read the thread earlier on the go, it did make me smile. . The guy must've had a fall and banged his head somewhere along the line!?! Fascinating. . People actually selling up to move closer! Unreal. .
  14. Would be interested in a couple of small type hobs. . I'll drop you a pm soon. Cheers
  15. Someone on here must know of the man, lovely chap, been in the game for years with plenty of dog men for friends. . ?
  16. Cheers kanigra, spoke to a fella who was adamant that the syndrome was only found in retriever types. . But evidently not the case. .
  17. Thanks for the replies on the thread. . Interesting reading. Bit more info about what happened, the dog (Duke) was mine from 6 weeks old, more specifically he's a Wheaton/Grey x Bull/Grey, I had to home him with my mother last year when he started clashing with my other dog Oscar (Deer/Grey x Whippet/Grey) Duke loves to retrieve and I mean he really does love it. . My mother brings him over to me on a regular basis (especially throughout the summer now) and I take him down the beach to launch the ball, he goes after it like a dog possessed and my Oscar goes after him like he stole his
  18. Cheers guys. . I laid hands on him and he came good! . . Just kidding. Right you were paulus, he recovered okay after a couple of hours. Should be back to normal tomorrow. Wasn't nice to see!
  19. Okay ladies and gents, mothers 3 year old Wheaton/Greyhounf has apparently collapsed with EIC. Waiting for the vet. Dog was fitting, now led on my sofa, breathing fast, eyes open, but unable to move. . Told over the phone he'll come good after rest. . Anyone experienced this ? He's going to be thirsty for sure. Been over 30 mins now. Getting better gradually. . Thanks
  20. Yeah, I've read it and let me tell you, it's a load of. . . Never heard of the book Axum, but if it would make an interesting topic, please start another thread! I'm gonna get banned from THL if this one carries on! ATB
  21. And don't rely too much on Wikipedia gents, it's not the most trust worthy source of information. .
  22. So the thread moves on. . . Thanks Hot Meat, I don't think I debate well as such mate, I just believe a simple boy with truth will give a wiseman with error a run for his money. Walshie, I'm not after the last word or to win mate. . I'm no fool, I can't possibly win with my views on this website!! ATB Tiercel, thanks, the difference in me and the author (with regards to our views) is that he is offensive and I'm defensive, he acts, I react. . That's all I want to hear, evolution is a theory (without legs IMO) but everywhere I turn, it's thrown at you as a fact. Born Hunter, I took
