  1. I tie mine up when laying the nets but after that she has always been free to roam. If she pokes her head she has been told to leave and made to sit and wait it only took two outings to stop her poking her head in the nets. Now she sits in the centre of the nets waiting.
  2. Yeah we are quite high up there mate. She a Plummer mark. Was a good morn rc1 not about the numbers just about getting out
  3. The weather was great yesterday morning so loaded up the car and off I went for a couple of hours ferreting. Wasn't a great haul I brought 4 home for the pot, should have been 11 but I left a few of the holes un netted to give the dog a bit of fun. A brill mornings sport and the dog is still flat out in its bed lol
  4. Well I was new back to rabbiting a couple of seasons back and a few people on here gave me a chance to go out with them and get back into rabbiting. I have decided I would pay that back now I have my own permissions, so if there are any newbies out there in the north east that are wanting a morning/day out give me a pm. If you have the kit great if not don't worry I have plenty and a couple of ferrets that do the job all you will need is a good set of digging arms....
  5. Yeah is great getting out with him he smiled all weekend and had rabbit for his tea on Monday night and loved it....
  6. He loved it mate and can't wait for his next trip
  7. I have resent lay noved house and knocked on a few farms and have managed to get 100 acres to ferret shot and work the dog on. Not a massive farm by any means but is rammed full with bunnies. Set off out early on Sunday morning with my lad his first ever hunting/ferreting trip and he was buzzing at the thought of catching his first rabbit to eat. I let him set all the nets and grab all the rabbits out of the nets. the only thing I done for him was the humane dispatching of the bunnies and the dirty bit cleaning and skinning lol. We were out three hours or so and he got four catches and 7 escap
  8. Yeah rice is good adds carbs to there diet
  9. Getting the new pups used to some colleges early....
  10. My bitch loves the ferrets did try to kill them at first though but after 6 months or so they are fine and work well together. Once the pup sees a rabbit in the net instinct will kick in and the rabbit will get nailed. After she had a few grabs and chases to earth she will realise how to mark her self mate good luck with your little pup
  11. Defo prob need to travel I would think George like clue spade says look around. There are some taller dogs around depending on the line behind them mate but they are good dogs and graft well.
  12. George a Plummer would be ideal for u if your using for rats and ferreting I had a lakie cross everything and a Plummer. The Plummer marks well, works great with my ferrets and rat well, while she was doing that I spent the rest or the time dragging the lakie out of holes backwards lol
