  1. Me and the wife were going through some of my old photo albums. "Ah, I've found one of you as a child lying naked on a rug" she laughed. "That's not me" I said. "Or that....or that......or that." And that's when she called the police.

  3. Dead right pip, its always hard to get scale with a pic. I've seen Mistle Thrush eggs that are almost fully red/brown and seen them without hardly any speckling on too. This species lays three to five eggs, which are pale blue to bluish-green, with reddish-brown and purplish spots. The eggs hatch after around 12 to 15 days, and the young mistle thrushes fledge at 14 to 16 days old, although they remain dependent on the adults for a further 15 to 20 days. The breeding pair may raise a second brood in the same season, with the male often taking responsibility for the care of the young while
  4. tiercel you cant get a perspective on the size from a photo and the colour looks wrong as iv had plenty of mistlethrush eggs but for some reason they look different and look like their reddish in colour its still baffling me tbh

  11. j just add any pics you got it dont matter as im sure most still want to see them no matter what year you found them.iv just been out with my mate just searching the local back field iv done well on this ground over the years and found another chiffchaff nest with eggs in but it was reed buntings and linnets we was looking for i know their in the area but hard to find for some reason

  13. it wont be long before their branchers,found a few last season just sitting for all to see and the mother tawny owl sitting near by keeping an eye on them, great photo moxy keep them coming
  14. iv seen woodpeckers drumming on trees and also seen a few nuthatches entering hollows,and the forestry are now building a new path through the wood and that chiffchaff nest is just of the path hope they dont turn soil over on it
  15. this is a whitethroats and the other top pic is a reed bunting but im sure ill get some better pics this year

  17. i would have found a jays by now or my mate would have, but the forestry decided earlier this year to strip all the rhodies out and let the blackberry bushes take hold.tbh i think its a good call as more small birds will benifit from it
