who knows bit of a gamble. If your a dog for life type of fella you might be better off with some thing breed for the job. On the other hand it could be a whirling dervish
-
oh and make sure you got mud guards or at least a rear

Yea good luck with that mate trying to keep dry is a challenge I never wear lycra just me normal work clothes and keep spare set of clothes in work or took with me. MIne was about 16 miles round trip up a dual carriageway one way so I had spray off the traffic as well. Best water proofs I found were from the farmers co op some nice green ones and a bit stretchy. They worked really well. I cycled for about 4 years hardly missed a day but got new job now and its too far. The biggest thing is good gloves because by christ the old hands can get cold on an icy morning

The thing with this fitness lark is once you get through the fook me this is torture part puffing like a train it can get addictive. Once you get few years in then any injury that holds you back can be a pain because you worry about sliding and losing your hard earned work. When i used to cycle to work if i took the car for some reason I would be in a right grump when i got home and just didn't feel right all most with drawn lol

running is best for getting better wind just build up to 3 x 5 miles a week and after year you will notice the diff. You will still puff a bit going up a hill but you will recover in seconds and end up with constant low heart rate

I was with the mrs on holiday once and we were walking along the cliffs and some runners came along and I said look at the daft fookers killing them selves but really I was jealous as I hung off the gate with me 10 chins and more spare tyres than dunlop. So i started running well crawling. Couldn't run for 3 minutes solid to start but two years later ran 50 miles. Ran for few years cycled to work for a couple and now on weights coming upto 50. Torn a groin muscle which is hold me back called a sport hernia which is a pain. Tell you what a healthy diet fooks the old gut lol. I used to be able

I passed young chap walking one today luckily we were in the car as my dog is a noob. Also passed a puppy in the summer and it ran straight up and tried to have a go and I had to boot it away
-
Yep very true and if your dog does take off the only way your going to catch the sod is if it pulls the sheep down They think they are helping the dogs but they are not and you can't police it so the people using them badly will still be at it unfortunately

what model jay ?
-
ha mine is the same. A load of builders turned up one morning to do the roof. Not one fancied stepping through the gate until the mrs told the dog they were ok. He won't go back wards either and if you did piss him off I doubt he would be letting go in a hurry. Not some thing I like really but the wife feels safe enough with him around

Any one recommend a good point and shoot camera please that can take decent pics regardless of the lighting like under tree's etc in the shade. Or is that not feasible ? I don't want this

terryd replied to Southeastcourser's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
My fella is still with me. Been out a handful of times just getting up to speed. No signs of any previous injuries popping up yet though I am sure knowing him he will add some fresh ones soon -

more deffo they were understanbly mad to get some meat and they were hunting for grub and when they got one in a stop end got stuck in
-
yea used to feed bread and milk as a kid because the old fella told me so. Makes me cringe thinking back. Them poor sods ate meat no worries when they got chance
-
Yea they don't hunt for grub that is for sure that is why all this old lark of starving ya ferrets before working don't wash any more
