If this was pre ban I would be in two mind showing mine deer after the trouble getting him straight with sheep. He has a hair trigger but he can't mistake a sheep for a rabbit but if he started scanning the ground for bigger things I could see him making a few wrong choices. But maybe he would surprise me I don't give him enough credit some times -

Mine was same. One day I walked around a field with lambs bouncing out the hedge in front of him. He was impeccable stopping until they crossed in front before moving forward. Next day same field as soon as we came through the gate he spotted one at the bottom of the field and took off like a bullet. Lucky he was on a long line -

You get the odd dog that just knows and shows no interest in stock. I had one once he hit two nearly and hardly saw a sheep then one day lost a hare and had to come back through a flock and never even glanced at them. He just new his vocation in life and was bomb proof. On the flip side my present dog which is a bull cross I have spent so much time around sheep its ridiculous and we got there in the end but I will never trust him. It detracts from him big time because you just can't relax but we cope. -
Yea thats a good sign must be good

Get all the training done and dusted because chances are it won't need any encouragement. Then come september it will be perfect for some easy runs on the bunnies to get the confidence done and dusted -
Love cuts like cheek or shin slow cooked so tasty. Shin has gone up in price last few years though as it has gained popularity

Dog whining and barking at night
terryd replied to the lamping ferreter's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Some fellow on here made a cracking job of a sound senor activated hose or sprinkler. There would be a market for such a device for sure. Nothing wrong with water as long as the dog knows it is not you espeacially a young dog. When my dog was a pup he was a right pain in his crate at night and one night I had must been a spoon full of water left in a cup and I threw it at him. He remembered that for years and his 5 now but if I approach his create with a cup his very suspicious so these things stick -
Amazing he is obviously blessed with good health and is making the most of it. Certainly some thing to aspire too

Just wait for the fruitcake to join the thread he will get this ended quicker than you can say chocolate chip

Things like that should be put to a vote. I doubt the benefits out way the risks how ever unlikely. Fact is some thing could

Any one watching the chernobyl series. Never new how bad that was its quite an eye opener. The 3 guys that went under it and released that water saved some lives by christ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7366338/

Just laziness. A way of giving the dog more exercise with out effort or can't be arsed to teach it walk tidy. Just daft if your dog is 10 feet in front it can also go ten feet in any direction so if your 3 feet from a road duh

my kits have died but she aint eaten them she has buried them
terryd replied to daveylad's topic in New Member Introductions
Loads of kits each year because people seem to have them just to get the jills out of season instead of the jab or snipped hob or just leave them in season. So if you need a couple from your own stock makes sense to cull at birth. Poor old unwanted ferrets get a grim life if they end up in wrong hands -
Yea he still gives it welly fair play the best way to keep going is keep on moving. Credit to him. The guy that kicked him obviously hadn't been watching arnie's motivational speech. No mention of drop kicking an old fella ?
