I had a dog like that once that never saw a sheep off lead until he was two. One morning on the way to work I sent him off across two fields. He had a run and lost it and started heading back and I noticed he had to pass through some sheep. Thought mmm this could go wrong but he never even glanced at them and from that day I trusted him fully until he donked him self in a ditch one night

When your off piste and following the rabbits you just never know what's over the brow or round the corner. It cost me my best dog one night Just have to do your best. I have a perm I visit regular through the season and no matter how far out in the field the rabbits are in one spot I never slip because I know for sure they will streak down the hill straight under a barb fence. But on new ground in years gone by we never had that luxury This was on one spot I did visit regular and I never lamped that particular field but I new one night I might forget to so went and dug the bugger up and

Brilliant lovely bunch of dogs and good fun. Looks nice and quiet there too with the big fields. Every thing feels a bit squashed around here the last 10 years or more lol

Not with out it costing hundreds she said. We were out tonight in some woods he was working flat out casting for scent. Such full on fella. Mad moment then storming round a field like a 6 month old, She did say the test showed either healing muscle or cancer and thinking about he was out lamping 2 weeks ago on a slope. Just have to see how we go I guess

Well the results came back and it is either a knock which he hasn't had a collision for some time and no pain or it is the big C. So a 100 quid to tell me nothing. They think it is the big c but not the type to spread much. No idea how they figured that out. So I said to the vet I would leave it then and she said it may spread to the muscles in his leg and cause him issues. Basically 700 quid to get it off or more if its all ready growing into the muscles so she is pushing to cut it off. I just don't know whats best. Don't begrudge him a penny but do begrudge throwing money away and put

What a cracking little dog reminds me of a rottweiler in the first pic lol . I have seen pics of him up before some where. Lovely size of a dog to have too just handy

Any one had much experience with the big c and there dogs? The big pillock hit 7 today so for his birthday I took him to the vets to get a lump checked out on his rear legs its popped up last 3 weeks or so. Vet suspects its not good and we know in a week. Reckons if just a fatty lump be 250--300 to whip off but cancer 600 and up. No telling if its spread and the test for that costs same as having it off. Been insure all his life but got furloughed last year and cancelled it dam it. His fine in him self at least for now
