  2. I all ways found letting my lurcher mix with ferrets in yard got him wound up and still does espeacially if they approach him and he can't get out way. Out in the field he is spot on
  3. Yea got my cousin on a couple good ones a 10 and an 11 and he whacked them both. Well I had to do one as he didn't have his whacker. I didn't like doing it. I had an 8.11 which copped it and I regretted straight after and as I say a fair few back as I have had a very good season so far. Its a bit of a sad ending for a fish that had dodged anglers and nets trawlers and god knows what for all them years.
  4. Good on you been returning a few of the ones over 6lb from the shore this year but just lately the trawlers have been hammering the place and coming in close. Sort of wondering what was the bloody point of putting my hard earned ones back though I get pleasure out if seeing them swim off as long as the freezer is full lol

  8. I took a gamble and it paid off. My logic was I had her as a pup before I had a car and we spent years on foot. So I thought well on foot we would have headed over to such and such for a run. I drove around in the car and was it 3-4 miles across country. Started flashing the lamp around and back at feet as she new that one. Felt I was wasting my time but second field in over in the far corner two eyes flying towards me. Cool as a cucumber flashed me feet once more and waited for the panting. Over the moon was understatement gave the little cow a hug lol Every time I drive tha
  9. Just sad full stop. I lost the beddy whippet one day so that night I went to a lamping spot a few miles up the road and flashed the lamp on and off the old silent recall job. Sure enough wasnt long before a set of eyes coming straight at me. Was over the moon. That field has now long gone with whooping great road straight through it
  10. Well you don't have to be Sherlock to figure this one out lol
  11. No idea if its right but does me
  12. Sounds like it just needs time off. I used to ferret every day with the one JR because he was so good. Every day we walked literally miles and miles and that was just to get there as no car then. One morning he was hobbling along behind stiff as a board. Got a lift to the vet and he said I had just worn him out. Couple of days off and right as rain. Begrudgingly after that I alternated dogs more and gave him a rest now and again. He was a little gladiator but they got limits
  13. Yea his good he is and he takes the dog some times too

  18. Personally I don't see the point of putting down a good dog when it can have a good life some where else or stay where it is if needs be. Just because it can't go like shit off a shovel. At least its with the right person now making sure she sorted for the future. Plenty are not
