  1. Since I stopped aiming my shotgun with one eye and just pointing it with two open my shooting has improved no end. Even now though I some times fall into the trap of thinking about the shot and start aiming and miss. If I just concentrate on looking at the target and forget the gun I do ok. Also find if for example a pile of birds turn up I can miss unless I try and really focus on one bird then I am ok. Just my findings
  2. I rewaxed me old wax jacket and sat in hedge last night lashing rain and was dry as a bone
  3. Sorry to hear charts but she had a good life that is all that matters
  4. but but there is a big difference in a bunch of idiots doing damage and causing mayhem compared to some chap who keeps well away from any homes and live stock and you don't know his there or been there.
  5. STick a cage trap up against the side of the bank on most streams or rivers. Have a look in the mud for tracks to see if any about. Don't even need to bait it just cover it up a bit like a tunnel though bait won't hurt lol. Legally I suspect you have to kill it no clue though as not my thing now days. But back in the days of cobbledick you could get 5-6 quid a pelt. They scream and let off right stink
  6. We also need less rules and regulations not more it is endless now a days
  7. This came out too last week Shooting them selves in the foot. Soon be moaning when people try stop them shooting which is in motion now. The guy that had his kennels ram raided implied it was coursers when really it would be some random dog thiefs
  8. What Phil said about the squirrels rings so true. The dog marked one up a tree in a hedge row once and what ever side I went the squirrel shuffled around the other side . I could only ever see a bushy tail. We kept this up for an age as I was determined. I turned around and the dog had gone and then ten minutes later he came trotting back with his own squirrel as if to say your pretty shite at this so this is how you do it. Bloody smart arse dogs hey
  9. Pigeon burger today. I see Jamie Oliver won his case against burger king saying they are unfit for human consumption so I will stick with these thanks
  10. If they never put it on the news there wouldnt be no panic. The news got a lot to answer for now a days
  11. don't buy 100 quid wellies get 18 quid farmers coop last year if get lucky
  12. That file is out there now job done. No going back and certainly no undoing the damage
  13. Your bang on two tea bags is needed and 3 minutes is perfect. I actual put a time on my phone. I the evening though I most have leaf tea and use an infuser again 3 minutes. As you say the cup matters too oddly lol. You have let your self down with the milk in first though
  14. Enjoying this guys videos nice and down to earth and the old versatile collies helping him out.
  15. I would normally slow cook or curry it and bash it with flavours of some sort but after watch few folks on youtube thought I would give it the steak treatment. It was tender and juicy and did remind me of steak though I am no steak expert. Like they say if you overcook it then it would be terrible. Not sure if greylag is better than canada or theres not much difference will soon find out when i bag one soon. I did brine in salt water for 24 hours so maybe that took away a lot of gameness. Good vid here

  17. It was very tender. I got a meat thermometer so some one mentioned on a forum some where don't go much above 130 before resting and it was spot on. As long as you don't mind it like that. Sliced thin as well. Was really nice and will repeat. As I am sure you know if you cook too far it will be tough. Oh also made a point of trimming well and cutting out any tendon and silver skin
  18. Low flying greylag 130F and rested for 10
  19. yes looks like his site is broken at moment
  20. Like mr wilkes said its all about control. No way in a million years is my dog not going to take off if a rabbit gets up in front lamp or not and like ray said if any thing else comes along even less chance lol. Long netting can be nice and stealthy and calm. Neither of them words fit my dog lol but you may have more luck
  21. My daughter sent me this today not sure what her point is ?
  22. It sounds good but the actual doing it would be different. In the day time though have the dog mark some bushes and sticking it in a stay while you run a net around is great. But at night I would leave the dog at home.
