  1. Never really had one before. Dogs in the past have been a bit of a hotch potch. But I love the nature of this one at least. Bright as hell eager to please and it's not a battle. Just wants to please and be with you. Bloody live wire mind. Just a bundle of energy. Helping me to lose a bit of weight lol Getting used to the ferrets took just zero effort. On the other side of the coin even now constantly scenting hedge rows and on the look out learned a place board in about 30 seconds I didn't even lose my rag when she started nibbling on t

  6. This loony. Not a nasty bone in her so I might have to gently guide toward what we are after but what a bloody treat
  7. Snares are like any thing they can be cruel if not used correctly. But not being legally allowed to go out and snare a rabbit in the countryside is so sad. Some thing else about to be gone I got stopped by the police during lockdown and I was carrying some rabbit snares and one of coppers asked the other are they legal and he said yes but not for much longer Snaring a rabbit is a tradition its part of country life. I bet its hardly got a mention and will quietly be bundled with fox snares
  8. They need regular checking and things do happen buts its yet another chip off the block. Got few rabbit snares hanging up which will soon be illegal
  9. Just noticed this tonight Wales announces ban on snares - Animal Aid WWW.ANIMALAID.ORG.UK Animal aid is heartened that there is going to be a ban on snares in Wales and hope that England and Scotland will follow. I guess they will include rabbit snares in that. The welsh gov are such a bunch of utter morons. Basc are trying to stop it by making snares licenced blah de blah instead of telling them where they can shove there bill

  16. Lucky to have a tree Jok looking forward to seeing the pies
  17. They love giving a dog a whack on the snout but never known one bite a ferret. Bolted few over the years and it sounds like ww3 going on in the tree but ferret comes out fine and dogs bleeding like a pig
  18. Simple fact is they work and you can get timing bang on and not have to touch the dog. The alternative being legging it across a field after a dog whos legging after a sheep and then when the dog gets the sheep and you get the dog its just a complete bloody shambles and no good is going to come of it. You actually need the dog to grab the sheep because if you have gone horse shouting and the ducker is blanking you any way how else you going to catch a lurcher doing good knows how many mph across a field Ideally you avoid any of that happening but some dogs are a bit more lively than others.
  19. Sounds a nightmare my understanding unless you have a clue using your ears you need to dig along the length of line. Just sounds horrendous
