  2. I got both so will start with air rifle. Then I have a 20G hushpower and then we can go to the 12G Shot few ducks in some reedy fields and they are buggers for sneaking off when clipped
  3. Thank you she sure is. Going through a whirling dervish phase now and just goes mental when we out lol. little fruit cake ?
  4. I was surprised to learn some one drove a field near by the other day. This big field is sectioned off with high tensile electric wire and they went through it all. There truck must been wrecked. Just not the way to do things. Low profile leave no sign and definitely do no damage. I remember being scared to death as a kid cause some idiot had left a gate open and fired up the farmer. Found my self in the middle of a field lamping away when the first I new was head light came on and engine revved up. Sneaky sod had snuck his landrover into the top of field. He came at me full pelt down the s
  5. So I can't tempt you with her brother then ? ? Your right about the merle mind every sod wants to pet her lol
  6. I was same Arry I can remember it now. Top floor class room with windows looking out over the fields toward home where my dogs and ferrets were waiting. Bloody torture being stuck in a religious education class. What an absolute waste of time that was. Most youngsters now a days are all bull crosses and facebook. They get off on the wrong foot. Instead of starting from ground up with few rabbit snares then get a pup and a ferret and progress
  7. Prickham is out to ban woodcock shooting now and no doubt he will just steam roll our lot and get his way or we will bow and let our selves be restricted. Its relentless. I only shoot one or two a year and that is my choice and my right
  8. Yes I can see how they could be a pain. Mine has a high energy levels to say the least. It takes a lot to tire her even now. She is not a big fan of being in the run during the day but in fairness is relativity quiet. When I stop for grub I let her out and we do some thing even ten minutes training and then shes ok until the evening big walk. She is in a crate in house at night. I made sure there was nothing on it for her to reach but kept finding stuff in there some how. One evening watching tv out corner of my eye I saw this dogs leg reaching around the corner. Must been extendable lol was
  9. I don't know how it works but if its down to votes or just peoples opinions on things we will never win any thing. I saw post on fb where one of the groups like basc were negotiating to make the bill workable and this is from a gundog point of view. Some woman said if your negotiating instead of knocking it back point blank you have all ready lost. She is bang on. They are constantly taking chunks and we scramble to cling on to little bits of it instead of stopping it full stop. Snares are going to be banned in wales and that will include rabbit no doubt which will slide through unnoticed. So
  10. What do people use for bedding in the kennels out of interest? PIssing down this morning so we didn't go far. Last thing I wanted was her in her bed all day soaked even after towelling down. Been using old rags and stuff but they need drying every ten minutes in this weather after shes been out
  11. Just watched it and skipped most of it what load tosh and what bunch of plonkers. I will say I don't get people sticking hard dogs in setts where they are inevitably going to get a pasting. Its all doomed all of it working any dog in 10 years even a bloody spaniel will be heading out the window. Sure of it
  12. Such cobblers and what’s wrong with tracking and killing wild animals. Why do they expect people to feel guilty about it
  13. Never really had one before. Dogs in the past have been a bit of a hotch potch. But I love the nature of this one at least. Bright as hell eager to please and it's not a battle. Just wants to please and be with you. Bloody live wire mind. Just a bundle of energy. Helping me to lose a bit of weight lol Getting used to the ferrets took just zero effort. On the other side of the coin even now constantly scenting hedge rows and on the look out learned a place board in about 30 seconds I didn't even lose my rag when she started nibbling on t

  17. Nice little cross espeacially in todays climate.Mooching about I can't think of any thing better.
  18. This loony. Not a nasty bone in her so I might have to gently guide toward what we are after but what a bloody treat
  19. Snares are like any thing they can be cruel if not used correctly. But not being legally allowed to go out and snare a rabbit in the countryside is so sad. Some thing else about to be gone I got stopped by the police during lockdown and I was carrying some rabbit snares and one of coppers asked the other are they legal and he said yes but not for much longer Snaring a rabbit is a tradition its part of country life. I bet its hardly got a mention and will quietly be bundled with fox snares
  20. They need regular checking and things do happen buts its yet another chip off the block. Got few rabbit snares hanging up which will soon be illegal
