Just got to cover a lot of ground maybe try known earths that can hold. I all ways favoured bracken banks. Hazel type woods along the top edge or along the bottom. Used to do quite well and find a fair bit. I don't dig now a days but there are more foxes about than there used to be. I would imagine it would be easier to find foxes now a days but over here in sunny wales its not my thing any more

She flushed a pheasant and a woodcock yesterday. First sign of her hunting really. Was well chuffed. The pheasant had sheep netting between us and I could see it sitting tight. If we had been other side she would had a chance seeing as she seems to wear jet boots. Or if I could figured out which of my fifty pockets my catapult was in ? seems very bird orientated which suites me perfectly

Yea I know. I kept giving the benefit of the doubt but one day when he was about six it became clear. Wife wouldn’t let me put him down. Working wise heart of a lion though counts for nothing now. One eye and cancer so his days won’t be long. Oddly I will miss him got some great memories of his catches. The lesson I learnt is if you socialise a dog only do it with tidy dogs or not at all. Saying that I do think he has screw lose lol

Not this one mate if he came across any dog male bitch or pup out about it would be toast his never off lead now in case. Can spend his final days pottering around house and bit ferreting on a line. The pup is breath of fresh air and so nice not to have to worry what’s around corner. I handled him wrong as pup he got nailed few times. I learnt a lesson there

Very sad that but a good age and a good life so a lucky dog

Sign of the times theres no escaping in ten years most hunting will be conducted underground literally lol

Yes Flacko very well bred too. I had been waiting for a pup for some time off my mate. But was hoping the old dog would have been gone before she arrived. But it didnt work out like that as his still here. His not good with other dogs which is an understatement but in fairness his not displayed the slightest bit of aggression to her thankfully

About 6 months now and going well. Real sweet nature to her and pretty soft. That said she thinks nothing of going under a gate through a stream of freezing water on her belly. Recall is great nice remote sit. Retreiving going well and thinks nothing of a memory. She is pretty playful and likes to have a romp around with it first though. Fine with sheep and ferrets and even cats. Nimble thing with legs like springs and loves jumping on stuff including me the bugger lol. So yea roll on next season and hope she does the business Scooby doo audition

Many years ago in the forestry one of my jobs was pointing fence posts on a pto driven saw bench. So every post you would have four cut offs by the side of the blade that you had to grab and throw behind. There was mountains of the stuff in various sizes upto gatepost. We mostly pushed it over the edge of the tracks to rot but did burn some at home. But sparky as hell and tarred up chimney

In or out matters not for working. As for convenience they both have there pros and cons so what ever works for you. I think they appreciate being with you more when they are kept outside so that may help with things but who knows

Having a lurcher take after a sheep when it is serious is an absolute sickener . Gets you right in a gut. Feel like the dog is a right off and you have done some thing wrong some where. Luckly only ever had one dog give me that feeling over the years

I thought it was all cobblers. I have been out in the country side all my life and never seen a thing. Then and I think I mentioned it before most likely in this thread. One evening I was cycling on some back roads. Just crested the top of hill and on the left was a forestry block. I looked up and saw what was basically a bobcat type animal. It was jet black it froze as it crossed the road and looked at me. I looked down to unclip my stupid shoes and when I looked backup it was gone. I remember it well because I wouldn't say it sent a chill but it was like more of a wow moment. That was my o
