  1. I have noticed the same and when you see a rabbit some where that you haven't seen one for 4 or 5 years it is a great day.
  2. Yes I have a vacced Hob must be worth a fortune lol. Cost me about 70 quid 5 years ago. I dread to think how much now a days
  3. Prior to that Tomo how did you handle her seasons ? Only reason I ask if my oldest jill was spayed.
  4. What works well if you dont want any thing two flash is a length of sheep wire and a couple of poles. Just thread the local foliage through the meshes and you can all ways have a second bit behind you if needed. When your done just roll up and stick out the way until your there next time. Cheap as all ways loads laying about and just redo each year. Me and my mate shoot a marshy field for ducks and we can pop that smack back in the middle with a it behind hide us and flesh it out with reeds and its pretty much invisible
  5. Old Kizzy lovely thing. I used to lamp with a couple lads from the valleys who would come down west for a night out. I was like the local guide back then and new all the spots lol. She used to hold her own against there muscle bound jobs no problems and did her thing up against the hedges or just plucked them out at the last moment. She really cleaned up in the heather on the old range Even in the big fields just use a bit of cunning and slip when the rabbit came flying for home and was only few yards out instead of wasting all that effort on long slips
  6. Just you the dog a lamp and good old rough night Good luck hope it works out which I am sure it will
  7. As far as knife sharpeners go this is the best I have used. Find it excellent and idiot proof https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009YKHZ96/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
  8. Some age that I think the best I have done is 8 or 9. Out of interest how did you bring her out of season each year jab or hob or did you not ?
  9. on the lamp and easy rabbits and gee her up if you leg it after the rabbit your self just to fire her up. You can't train a dog to strike as such that will boil down to enthusiasm at the end of the day. If you had a ferret and let her pin a netted rabbit etc but failing that lamp is the best way and be really selective with your runs. Get between the rabbit and base camp so she sees it coming and go for it. Worry about finesse once your up and running. Just my thoughts
  10. They look stunning the old bull crosses with a good shine sure do take a lovely picture. Hope you have a great season. Regarding smaller types I deliberately aimed for a smaller dog this time around at about hopefully 22 inch. Just no need for any thing bigger for what I want and may fly under the radar better.
  11. Super well done can't fault that. Great start
  12. That has to be a joke surely if that is true they need sacking and let my 3 year old grand daughter do the job she has more of a clue

  15. No your right he is a 1/4 collie.
  16. He seemed a really nice chap rest in peace. Love his isobars quip proper humour
  17. I think she will be about 21-22 going by mum any way. Father is I think 25 or there a bouts. You can't tell in the pics but she has a fair old length of leg on her back end. Smaller the better to be honest for what I need
  18. Yes I think you are right his been a challenge for sure and I have plenty of memories both good and really bloody bad lol. He can see his years out now pottering around the house. The temp difference is like chalk and cheese as you would expect but to be honest I think he just has a screw lose lol. Her first encounter with the ferret was bloody heaven compared to him though granted he was a week or two older but even then he just wanted to rag them. She was like best mates with them.
  19. Picked her up Saturday and by Sunday morning managed to upset the whole street ? Lovely character and sticks to me like glue. Completely different mentality from the bull cross as you would expect I guess lol. Around the ferrets like they are equals and job done pretty much straight away. She is not out to kill every thing at least not yet. Unlike the old chap who was a slog from the word go. Collie grey x collie grey. Her brother is spare just good working home wanted ideally. Pm me for contact details ( llandeilo) Looking forward to the next year pottering about
  20. Glad his still going I got two or three of his knives they are super
  21. Wouldn't surprise me all the rage now. Good idea for equipment and works all round. But for live stock where you need to make sure animals go to a good home not good
  22. There page is full of such shite. Bunch of fruit cakes
