  2. This loony. Not a nasty bone in her so I might have to gently guide toward what we are after but what a bloody treat
  3. Snares are like any thing they can be cruel if not used correctly. But not being legally allowed to go out and snare a rabbit in the countryside is so sad. Some thing else about to be gone I got stopped by the police during lockdown and I was carrying some rabbit snares and one of coppers asked the other are they legal and he said yes but not for much longer Snaring a rabbit is a tradition its part of country life. I bet its hardly got a mention and will quietly be bundled with fox snares
  4. They need regular checking and things do happen buts its yet another chip off the block. Got few rabbit snares hanging up which will soon be illegal
  5. Just noticed this tonight Wales announces ban on snares - Animal Aid WWW.ANIMALAID.ORG.UK Animal aid is heartened that there is going to be a ban on snares in Wales and hope that England and Scotland will follow. I guess they will include rabbit snares in that. The welsh gov are such a bunch of utter morons. Basc are trying to stop it by making snares licenced blah de blah instead of telling them where they can shove there bill

  10. Regardless of age that needs reporting. Or maybe on there warranty it should say may blow up and burn your house down after a few years. That could been so bad and glad it wasnt
  11. He used to do more hunting stuff did clay but due to health its more pottering about now. Seems nice chap. I all ways liked this song
  12. Lucky to have a tree Jok looking forward to seeing the pies
  13. They love giving a dog a whack on the snout but never known one bite a ferret. Bolted few over the years and it sounds like ww3 going on in the tree but ferret comes out fine and dogs bleeding like a pig
  14. Simple fact is they work and you can get timing bang on and not have to touch the dog. The alternative being legging it across a field after a dog whos legging after a sheep and then when the dog gets the sheep and you get the dog its just a complete bloody shambles and no good is going to come of it. You actually need the dog to grab the sheep because if you have gone horse shouting and the ducker is blanking you any way how else you going to catch a lurcher doing good knows how many mph across a field Ideally you avoid any of that happening but some dogs are a bit more lively than others.
  15. Sounds a nightmare my understanding unless you have a clue using your ears you need to dig along the length of line. Just sounds horrendous
  16. West wales mate and thank you for the kind offer. Get this little bitch rocking and a rolling and we see where we are at
  17. I am happy with my lot 1 hard earned rabbit worth 20 easy ones in my book. Quality not quantity espeacially day time keeps me going
  18. I think the lack of bunnies is why now a lurcher needs to be more versatile than ever before. Depending on your poison a it of gun work, catty and just a pal to mooch about with. The days of a hopping over a gate for a quick flash or maybe a bit lamping ? are going quick. Every where is so built up hardly room to swing a cat let alone blast a million candle power
  19. I think it is a phase mine went through the same but after about 9 years he came out the other side ? He has even accepted the pup which absolutely amazed me and I was dreading it. When I think back to his younger years he really did try and rule the roost and got to admit it was touch and go at times ?
  20. You have got me thinking now about my old beddy whippet. When she started she would would hum and hah about the place really gingerly and eventually when she started to catch she would all most hold the rabbits by the skin. I actually started to think she had some thing wrong with her mouth. But as time went on her confidence grew and turned into awesome little dog though she all ways held rabbits a light as possible which is no bad thing. You imagine a nice green young rabbit on the lamp this time of year. Bit of long grass clumped about or a thick hedge. Once off course if you were to l
