  4. Ok thanks I will give it a try. Thanks for the tip about the rabbit too I do have a habit of over doing that stage of the cooking
  5. After a bit of googling seems paste is the way too go. Quite like the look of this one http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Scottish-Rabbit-Curry-395254
  6. Can any one help with a rabbit curry recipe please. I am an ok cook but never been able too do a nice curry. To get the rabbit tender I guess I would pressure cook it or slowly boil but once I have the meat what's next. Don't really want too use any thing out of jar but don't want too spend 20 quid on spices in tesco either. I do all ready have a fair collection so chances are I have most things. Thank you
  7. I don't think there are any hard and fast rules. Depends on the spot and also weather I think. Staying up and going at 2 am might not benefit you any more than nipping out at 8pm. My prefered time is 9-10 pm but that is just so I can be tucked up in bed by midnight Not very helpful I know
  8. Good luck with the new pup all ways an exciting time
  9. Shy and wary is a good thing in my opinion with in reason you obviously don't want the dog running a mile when it sees the ferret. But a healthy respect is good you can never really trust the ferret not too give the dog a nip if it feels like it.

  11. Very tragic that. Lamping does seem too account for many a dog in one way or another. I lost mine one night as a kid. Don't know if I would take the risk now a days not that I have a running dog now. Say that I am sure if I did I would soon get back at it. Sorry for your loss looked a very nice dog
  12. This may help http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hawk-Bush-Jack-G-Mavrogordato/dp/0854350829/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351800104&sr=8-1
  13. Brilliant read that and the ferret looks really healthy 3 legs or not. Sounds like you had a really enjoyable outing
  14. Fingers crossed hope she pulls through for you
  15. The one on this page by secret agent mole was stunning http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/261730-pigeon-for-dinner/ I had too fight the wife off the left overs and the smell of cooking pigeons was out of this world
  16. Mine have nearly zero interest in a rabbit once it is dead as they get fed mostly dry food so that would make no sense in my case
  17. Very true right little character you got there
  18. Nice read that did enjoy I agree about a terrier too ideal dogs
  19. Jesus christ that's harsh I take my previous post back then I found these links for some light reading http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/47513-Trespass-Law http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/s_to_u/trespass_and_nuisance_on_land/
  20. lol whos been naughty boy then. So long as you weren't carrying a fire arm things shouldn't be too bad
  21. great jr's this is what this thread is all about small dogs with big hearts, them two are a credit to the type of russel i love. They were naturals and took too it with no effort mind you I remember taking moses ferreting when he was only few months old just used too carry him with me every where. Be nice too think there are still dogs like that around
  22. yeh cant beat a good jrt as they have never been bred to close just worker to worker, and who knows what they are bred from, you will seldom see a sick or mangey jr seem to be imune to most things. Funny you should say that I said exact same thing to wife earlier today. I was taking cocker for walk she said watch where you take him as he spent few days in vets week or two ago with some mystery illness and I said I have never known one of my terriers be ill
  23. Nice little dog bulljack in my opinion you cant beat a russell from good parents. I was never into the lakelands and pats. I did have one but he was a pain in the kennels and not as good as my jr he seemed lacking in the brain department Moses was a brainy bugger and great ferreting dog too had too keep him on lead when digging or he would off marking rabbits
  24. Sadly not they both went too old age then about the time they passed I got wife and kids and only now 20 years later am I getting back into field sports. Got few ferrets and pet cocker at the moment. Rented house only allowed one dog I think when he passes away I will be after a nice little terrier. Miss having a working dog
  25.
