  1. Nice read that I love the look on the ferrets face when the dog waltzes off with his rabbit
  2. Don't worry about the post good read would very interested in the recipies all ways on the look out for some thing too try
  3. I take it you don't have a dog ? like me in which case it is a struggle but keep at you will hit gold at some point and it is well worth it then. As you say just 1 rabbit is a big success I had this one the other weekend after doing about 7 empty sets of holes made it all worth while
  4. very true my ESS would thrash a bowling green if asked with as much pace and drive as if she were in a covert, whereas my cocker only really becomes alive on scent That is very interesting we have a show bred cocker who has been a house dog pet for 5 years of his life. Having recently got back into field sports I have swiped him off the wife now again to hopefully help me and also make his life more interesting. I was very surprised that he has a natural hunting instinct or how much he has rather. If I say where is it boy and point him to a bit of cover he starts zig zagging about and
  5. Looks nice beef shin would be good for that cheap too
  6. 8. Ok thanks I will give it a try. Thanks for the tip about the rabbit too I do have a habit of over doing that stage of the cooking
  9. After a bit of googling seems paste is the way too go. Quite like the look of this one http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Scottish-Rabbit-Curry-395254
  10. Can any one help with a rabbit curry recipe please. I am an ok cook but never been able too do a nice curry. To get the rabbit tender I guess I would pressure cook it or slowly boil but once I have the meat what's next. Don't really want too use any thing out of jar but don't want too spend 20 quid on spices in tesco either. I do all ready have a fair collection so chances are I have most things. Thank you
  11. I don't think there are any hard and fast rules. Depends on the spot and also weather I think. Staying up and going at 2 am might not benefit you any more than nipping out at 8pm. My prefered time is 9-10 pm but that is just so I can be tucked up in bed by midnight Not very helpful I know
  12. Good luck with the new pup all ways an exciting time
  13. Shy and wary is a good thing in my opinion with in reason you obviously don't want the dog running a mile when it sees the ferret. But a healthy respect is good you can never really trust the ferret not too give the dog a nip if it feels like it.

  15. Very tragic that. Lamping does seem too account for many a dog in one way or another. I lost mine one night as a kid. Don't know if I would take the risk now a days not that I have a running dog now. Say that I am sure if I did I would soon get back at it. Sorry for your loss looked a very nice dog
  16. This may help http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hawk-Bush-Jack-G-Mavrogordato/dp/0854350829/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351800104&sr=8-1

  18. Fingers crossed hope she pulls through for you
  19. The one on this page by secret agent mole was stunning http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/261730-pigeon-for-dinner/ I had too fight the wife off the left overs and the smell of cooking pigeons was out of this world
  20. Mine have nearly zero interest in a rabbit once it is dead as they get fed mostly dry food so that would make no sense in my case
  21. Very true right little character you got there
  22. Nice read that did enjoy I agree about a terrier too ideal dogs
