  1. Brilliant pictures and looks like another good day. When are you are doing the rough bit then? only kidding I am just jealous
  2. I reckon that's the way. In the summer months I would avoid putting the dog in a position where it is going to mark unless you want to carry a ferret around and battle the cover. Last thing you want is to take the dog away from the hole at least until its experienced
  3. Butchers all the way if possible. Buy 3 kilo of mince get one free and at a good price and good meat. Chunk of top side for about 12 quid for the family tends be the same price if not a tad cheaper than tesco and so much better. Some chunks of beef shin nice and cheap for casseroles or ox tail for slow cooking. Only thing our butcher is pricey on is chickens so get them from aldi
  4. That would be a good angle to try tc thank you
  5. Great pictures and I love the terriers mentality I don't care if there is two rocket ship lurchers in front its worth a crack anyway, wait until he hits the hedge Great little dogs
  6. Thats very true the cost soon mounts especially if using containers and need to get compost in. But the spuds I grew for the first time a couple of years ago I haven't tasted spuds that good since I was a kid and we grew our own stuff then. They caught me out too because they cooked in a few minutes not like the ones you buy that need boiling for a day and half to get tender
  7. Just curious does any one with a Bro Myrddin House have more that one dog ? Been reading there bumf and it says they have a policy like the council of one dog only. I was thinking of seeing if they would let me house one out side we have a nice concrete back yard.
  8. Proper little JR's nice too see
  9. lol cobblers you don't need a 500 quid air rifle to kill rabbits
  10. Circumstances dictate everything T but if possible live for the moment you dont know whats round the corner. Very true indeed you could be 20 and get hit by a bus or 70 and go onto 90 as you say best live for the moment
  11. I will after some thing for ferreting either a terrier type or maybe a whippet. We have a rented house so only allowed one dog which at the moment is a pet cocker and he is 6 years old so I wont be getting one for a while yet . Which brings me to another question at what age would you think to your self well I aint going to be around for another 10-15 years so I better not get another dog ? or does no one consider that
  12. We used to the cheap engine oil from quick save at the time years ago. Saw's used 5-6 days a week with out bother dare say it wasn't ideal compared to the proper stuff but you had to watch the pennies
  13. Yea there a good size and I haven't tried the water granules my self
  14. great pictures again and a good day
  15. Some nice crops there I might give the peppers another go. I don't have a green house only one of them plastic 20 quid jobs but its good for starting stuff off. What is in the second picture down on the right with long green leaves ?
  16. Yea the only problem with containers is the constant watering especially the smaller ones. Spuds did very well though and I used any old bag the ones you get compost in work well. and I also didnt notice a massive increase in crop by using a bigger container. Salad stuff did well and pole-star runners did great. I never had any luck with the peppers and stuff though
  17. That looks a cracking spot and all them rabbits along that ditch with no cover but they have them hedges in the distance. They need survival lessons off our welsh rabbits. Some great pictures too
  18. Dam it I should have skipped the council tax bill this morning
  19. Christ can't even tell a 15 year old what to do hardly unless you want to turn it into a fight which is obviously not the way
  20. Some prat went through our village the other day slashed all the tyres on one street. Lots of scum about now a days my daughters going out with one
  21. My old jr marking he new to be quiet and keep to the side of a hole very smart fella. Around here a rabbit will rarely dash far out of cover anyway as a rule lurcher has no chance at least a terrier can get back in cover and put it to ground again.
  22. that's bloody brilliant love it even the music is spot on
  23. Some interesting points of view nice to read both sides terrier or lurcher. I would all ways go for a terrier simply due to size and the fact they can get in any cover and under or through any fence. The only thing that would stop me now a days is the fact if it was a good terrier it would go to ground on either a fox or worse so when I replace my cocker it will be a whippet cross only due too that fact
  24. terrier would be good for that and they can get under the sheep/pig wire as a rule As for the training just get them out as much as possible with the ferrets and spend lots of one on one time they soon catch on
