The fact is if your on perm you shot and wounded a hare or if you flushed into a net and in either case the dog found it you would not have broken the law. If you did exactly the same thing with a fluffy cocker it wouldn’t even be an issue. Yet the fact it’s a Lurcher means you get discriminated against which I thought now a days was such big no no. You can’t go around offending people. Then for them coppers to have a go at the farmer in public all over Facebook before any thing is proven was well out of order. Until proved other wise the farmer did nothing wrong. Shame they don’t get a good s

Dog retrieved them or followed up if wounded. Only fly in ointment is if they weren’t wounded. Again perfectly legitimate if they had been netted and dog collared them. More holes in this than one of my home made purse nets

The Lurcher man or woman is definitely being discriminated against. So if your on permission with a Lurcher and you shoot or legally net a hare there’s a good chance of losing your dog if some one sticks there nose in. Just not right. Them coppers definitely enjoying there job to much throwing there weight around.

What Mel said if your going poach you have to be ideally not seen or leave any sign. Do zero damage and show respect around live stock. If you happen to get caught a quick sorry and on your way Storming around in bunch of 4x4s like idiots is just ridiculous and now proper lads will get ear full just walking a dog down a road in that area

Some big money on YouTube you can see why some of them start crying if YouTube demoneytisers the video or what ever you call it just because they butchered a duck or something. Think the hunting guys have tread carefully

It’s bloody great fun and one rabbit can give no end of fun. Rabbits are no idiots either as toolbox says about doubling back. The Lurcher was in cover tracking one once through brambles. I was stood in there to and as Lurcher pass me the rabbit came back and crept by the Lurcher and legged it. Few minutes later along came the dog on its line. It passed the dog with in feet and literally crawled past. A deliberate back track. Gave him right run around and got away

I noticed they don’t half sleep well. Especially in the summer often catch them napping in the rough grass. The old dog gave one or two a rather rude awakening. Felt bit sorry for them dozing away in the sun and next it’s all going badly wrong. Clocked one this year sleeping out on the edge of a field. Saw it a mile away and popped bitch on a lead . Walked right up to it and it was only when I circled up wind it woke up. does your whippet keep close Fred or will it get its nose down and go ?
