  1. I ended up going for a 7 Litre 300 Bar cylinder from Best Fittings, it comes with everything I need to get started. The fact that I have access to diving compressors at work made it a bit of a no brainer. All I need now is my license so I can collect my rifle!
  2. Some great info in this thread, I'm finding it hard to decide whether I should get a pump or a tank. I have access to a diving air compressor at work so I'm leaning towards a tank, I like what I've read about the Hill pumps too though!
  3. Thanks buddy! Its been an absolute age since I ordered the HW100KT, the license application went on the missing list for a while but I have been informed that it was found and is now finally being processed. I picked up some JSB Jumbo Exact pellets in 5.51 and 5.52 for testing as soon as it comes. Have to get a pump or a dive cylinder now too!
  4. Yeah, I definitely want function over form, I'm going to be shooting it, not looking at it after all! I'm going to go with the .22 aswell, I don't think I'd like the .177 when its windy.
  5. You will need a license for an air rifle in Ireland Kevin, they are all classed as firearms here regardless of power.
  6. I'd say the field of view would be awful with that much mag!
  7. Yeah, I know what you're saying Andy, I'm just worried about the objective lense meeting the barrel. I will have to do a bit of searching for mounts aswell, the tube on my scope is 34mm, most of them mounts are for picatinny rails and won't fit the Weirauch dovetail! Spot on Jim, it is indeed 50 metres, I wasn't sure as the scope in on my old rifle in the dealers. Thats the same scope as my own except for the double turn turrets, mine doesn't have those although they can be retrofitted. All air rifles are FAC over here regardless of energy rating. Goodluck with your HW100 J
  8. Thats good news about the recoil, thanks for that Andy! Yeah, its a great scope, but havent used it much yet tbh! I think the paralax is only adjustable from 100 yards so its probably no use on an air rifle? I'm thinking of getting a one piece mount from Sporting Services, not sure what height to get though?
  9. I'll probably go with the hw100t as thats what the dealer is getting in and I don't really want to wait much longer. The extra length shouldn't bother me as I won't be hopping in and out of vehicles with it. Won't have it til after Christmas, its going to be a long wait I think I have a 12litre 300bar dive bottle sorted and I have access to a diving air compressor, anything else I should be getting in the meantime?
  10. Would there be much difference in accuracy at longer ranges between a hw100t and hw100kt?
  11. I am in the middle of buying a HW100, I have a S&B 3-12x50 pm2 parallax adjustable, illuminated mildot reticle from my old Tikka. I know its overkill, but will I be able to use it on the HW100 for a while? I read somewhere that using cartridge rifle scopes on air rifles can damage the scope? Cheers Murph
  12. I'm in the same position myself. I really like the look of the sporter stock, but I had a Tikka T3 Tactical before and would of liked the stock to have a more pistol grip shape to it. I think I'm going to go for the HW100t, still unsure of what caliber to go for though. I've read through most of the threads about the subject on here and I don't think I'd like the.177 in the wind, but I'm a bit worried about the trajectory of the .22.
