Do they use that micro for mole holes
-
Lol This topic has cheered me up Someone one told me to sow in some dry lavender in to there fleece bedding and they will smell of a ferret that has been rubbed with lavender.... That about sums it up.. You can't mask the musk. Learn to love it...... But maybe not as much as the bloke who's cock smells like one though

You`ve not just bought a dark ferret from daytimeonly have you ????lol It`s not as easy as you think to convert a shit ferret into a worker would say its impossible wouldnt you? what can you do, its not like dog whereyou can improve fitness diet stamina etc, its either there or its not? No your not improving fitness but surly getting it to come to you and to search out to get food is possible. As for dogs it's not just fitness you train them. Do you have bop mate they have a natural instinct to hunt. Doesn't mean it will be a good worker if you don't put the hours in traini
-
Lol no. Whys that are they too busy bouncing around, or too much time needed?
-
If the man want to pay £50 for a dark ferret then surely it's up to him.... I've seen loads of people driving shite BMWs cos they like the look. Ok they have to take a twat test before they buy.... But also a lot of people saying some ferrets are shit workers.??? This is a genuine question I know you wil get some that do the job from the off But surely most of the others can be trained with a little bit of time. Most dogs And birds perform well before a bit of training. And it not like a ferret is stupid! Childish maybe but surely it doesn't take a lot to turn a poor hunter in to

Anyone looking for black eyed white just go to rescue... They have shed loads. Also sandys. Yes the charge £40 but I doubt a lot of you could get a ferret neutered for much less
-
They want £ for a heare !! I have a Jill that's Super size micro!! 1/4 Ferret x 1/4 Polar Bear 1/2 Demon.... Worth a grand and I'll take offers around that! She looks a lot like an albino but she REALY isn't!!!!

It's easier to clean out with a old sheet or a £1 fleece from primark. As someone said before litter tray makes it easier still. Don't get the corner one they don't like them. Just a cheep one from p@h and the cat litter made from paper last a good while and save soo much time. If you do get a tray you will prob need to tie it in to position as kits love to move stuff out there way. Good luck mate

Do you have a link too it?

Adrenal is the one I'd look out for. If hair doesn't come through. There are other signs of adrenal on the web. Mine are going through their moult but have never looked like big patches missing and I know adrenal ferrets do. But they are all different, so best to just keep an eye out
-
I'm not saying its anything but moult but. Look out for other bits too just to make sure she's ok. I found this little bit on web.... There might be one or more reasons that your ferret is losing fur, ranging from being normal to being a serious illness. Please take time to moniter your ferrets heath to prevent serious complications. If your ferret does not regrow fur, then the probable cause is an illness or disease that needs prompt veterinary care. The most common cause of ferret fur loss is Adrenal disease (thought to be caused by neutering too young) - Hormonal changes. Your ferret nee

this might be the stupidest question but!!!

That video may be the exception to the rule. Don't think for one second that all ferrets would behave this way. Even if it was a kit when you got it. One day in might just bite a bit too hard. When ferrets bite each other there skin is thick enougth to take it. I have ferrets that have never been out on a hunt. But go mad at the smell of next doors rabbit. And desperately try to get under the fence to it. I don't think they just want to play! As said before it will depend on if your hunt too though Good luck mate and let us all know how it goes. Will be interesting -
I would defiantly look around at that price for the jab Round hear in Essex it's £15 per ferret. Mine have had it and had no problems. But some ferrets have bad reactions and can die from it! Not trying to scare people off of it. As I said my lot had it and were fine, but I only got it done as there was an outbreak last year near by. Also it's not always the rescues, it's just as it can devastate their lodgers and then your more likely to hear about it. A lot of rescues also pay out for postmortems to confirm cases of cd Not many hunters would pay out after loosing their fuzzy helper.

Yes dog biscuit is not good for them. Far too much veg in it. But could get you out of a tight spot if your really stuck. But don't do it often.
-
If you get jills you could get them the jab, or if someone has a vasectomised hob. It would do the job. I must warn you hobs are rough lovers, lol The hutch is better than the one on gum tree as it has a base! You garden maybe look ferret proof to you but they dig under fences and if you had that hutch on grass they would be out as soon as your back was turned. They would defiantly go under the shed. Especialy if there are mice near by. Free food. Lol. But make sure no one has used poison out there at any point as a dead mouse would also mean a dead ferret! They can be quick and don't always

Pets at home had a double hutch last week that was £100. Easily big enough for two or three. Although they would need to be out for about four hours daily. Best to build a nice big run connecting to the hutch. Or do what I did and ferret prof the garden.( this can be very tricky) are you getting them to hunt or pets. Or a bit of both. My three prob cost me no more than a £4 per week on avarage. They thrive on chicken wings and drumsticks. Wings are about £1.70 per kg at morrisons. Also go shopping with your mum and look for meat that's been put in the cheep section. (mince, chicken, turkey,)
-
Well they loved it. I wish I could say the same for the chicken liver I got them.......unimpressed to say the least.
-
Thanks Yea I knew about ham and bacon. But see some site saying no pork?. I'd just got them some mince of pork and beef. Thanks anyway
-
Is pork and beef mince ok for ferrets. I've seen something about them not having pork but can't find anything conclusive.
-
They are probably on here for sale. At a hiked up price!
-
Maybe the ferts are already nutered? I paid £40 for one that had been done. I thought it was good price. If not then your a greedy sod without a doubt
-
Anyone selling one? How much would these be secondhand? Or is it not worth the risk
-
Anyone in have kits in South east?

The frontline spray works well for fleas. I used ones from pets at home and they were crap for fleas. Ordered frontline online. Not eBay mind you. And they were gone same day. Don't use the drops as there have been incidence of ferrets dropping dead from them. Some say only use a half but I wouldn't risk it. Best to spray a plastic glove twice and rub in the the ferrets fur. Also if you give it sone paste or wipe some olive oil on a plastic lid or it's bowl it will be licking that for something giving the spray a chance to dry in. Malt your spot on as mustelids are a cannine derived speices.
