  1. Is there any way of choosing not to see posters avatars and signatures on this site. Its an option available on a number of other forum and I find it helps keep the meaningless clutter off what can already be visually busy forum pages, Especially ones over burdened with commercial advertising etc . Besides once you've seen the same avatars and signatures 3 or 4 time they become rather boring.
  2. Stu As I said before .........the truth will out
  3. Yet another lamentable and desperate attempt to try and save face, and a truly pathetic one at that. But its what we have all come to expect from the keyboard of Quarrell after all of these years. So much so that its become a standing joke around the various shooting fora. Even the one you slithered on to quite recently.
  4. Bleeding heck someones agreed with Gerfalcon I will run the flag up He will be taking you out next on his ground Cheeky bugger!
  5. Tapping of sticks and the crack of a flankers flag is all that's needed. Absolutely hate hearing beaters shouting. They get told if they do it more than a couple of times. Me or one of the other keepers will warn a back gun if there's a bird on its way if we think its warranted. No need for anyone else to chirp up. With 2way radios now being so cheap there's no need to shout instructions across the line either. Just a squeeze of the button and you can communicate with your team without making a row. Keepers and stops/flankers on one channel and pickers up and game cart on another.
  6. LOL Nothing like sticking to native plants. Forget the roses. Go for some of the commercial available climbing blackberry varieties. There are literally dozens and dozens to choose from They will take better , grow faster and you can propagate them easily in order to spread them about or you can simply leave it to the birds and the beasts to do it for you. Same goes for the creepers and vines. Go find some good old fashioned honeysuckle. No forester is gong to thank you for bunging russian vine in his woods.
  7. Are you sure they were liquorice, and the sheep hadn't broken in again?
  8. I agree, dig your hole first. Crumble up a chocolate digestive on the side of the hole you want to be and walk the dog up to the treat, let it drop its head to have sniff and do the honours with a .22 sub and then say your goodbyes. All done peacefully and with dignity. Still one of the hardest things in the world to do with a dog that has given its whole life to your enjoyment. But you owe it to the dog at the end of its days.
  9. It would help determine once and for all whether the problem is as bad as the BDS and the local Stag hunts claim or is as minimal as the LACS claim. I know which version of the truth I feel is the closest to the actual situation. If an independent investigation found the case to be as bad as its is claimed to be the LACS would be hard pushed not to instigate some sort of significant cull programme. If only under the moral grounds of not wanting to see an animal suffer. In regards to a landowners responsibilities to wild mammals other than as you mention notifying DeFRA of any notable dise
  10. Stu As a visiting stalker as Nino would be. Whilst I'm sure he would be keen to know that he was participating in a well structured deer management programme based upon all of the most highly respected principles. I suspect the fact of the matter to be the importance of environment management and control and your desire to promote it to be of a secondary consideration after the quality of the head. if that is not the case I am sure Nino will put the matter straight.
  11. I wouldn't know. I was relying upon you and yours to keep us all informed how that all worked.
  12. Hey steady guys. In all seriousness have a bit of respect. If not for the man, at least for the dog. Even I draw the line somewhere.
  13. Ok, so we've covered the bases in regards to roe. What about the other deer species? Where do you draw the line regarding competency in regards to recreational stalkers or should that be a seperate discussion?
  14. I was taking that as read But I'll add it just to keep you happy.
  15. Its that time of year again when that annual stalkers dilemma in regarding does and their kids and does and their fawns rears its head. Do you shoot the doe first and risk leaving an orphan on the ground or do you shoot the kid/fawn first there by eliminating the orphan risk and hope you either get a chance at the doe immediately afterwards or that you can pick her up at later date.
  16. The old saying that if you buy cheap you'll always be crying. But if you buy the best you'll only cry once. Applies to everything, especially shooting kit. What price do you put on comfort?
  17. It depends on the species, age, sex, the animals activity prior to death, rutting, being coursed etc. Along with the ambient temp conditions in which the beast is hang.
  18. Hardly worth the bother. Enough is know by that many people now following the "stolen" high seat fiasco being so well publicised around the various shooting forums. That it would be a forgone conclusion what the result would be. Besides apart from a select few, I'm more interested in the views and opinions of those who are in the can't be bother category. For reasons already noted
  19. I'm sure theres a good many. They just can't be bother to post or can't be bothered with this forum.
  20. I think I will pass on that one Your not the only one.
  21. The only thing wrong with Scotland is its infested in certain areas with tapeworms and low bellied ground snakes ,you have to be careful whereabouts you go Nino If you have mastered the art of limbo dancing under a shit house door like a few of us have we seem to get bye just about but even then sometimes we get caught out. Perhaps Davey here will take you out Nino Stu I wouldn't call one tapeworm and its associated cronies an infestation. There are many many reputable suppliers of stalking opportunities in the boony land of the haggis. Withl excellent reputations for ho
  22. Is that what you think your doing flower...... You stick to boggling me with your superior knowledge and that will keep you one step ahead.... but please dont try and start a slagging match or i'll make you look like the little bitch you are..... Oh and you wont catch me with your little camera cause i dont course hare or deer, but i do love to watch the chase.... I'm suprised a person that is an obvious fountain of knowledge would ever think coursing of any kind will be stopped completely.........silly billy... An other classic example from you of trying and failing to punch ab
  23. Calm down calm down. I'm just extracting the urine from the lad, as he's so full of it.
  24. Followed by a PETA funded hunt monitor with a video camera collecting evidence for the prosecution most like. Along with a handy torque wrench just to make sure those wheel nuts haven't worked loose. They might even bring along some tissues for you to dab away the beads of cold sweat.that will undoubtedly be breaking out on your furrowed forehead. You never know you might even get a job singing soprano in the local chapel choir.
