It's got to be the parents fault! They can't even say "I didn't know he'd got the gun" because the f***wit parent had wrote the perm slip. I have had my windscreen hit by a pellet from young'uns who "they aren't doing any harm, leave 'em alone spoilsport" were illegally out with guns they shouldn't have had. The cost of the windscreen wasn't the main thing I was worried about at the time although I was unemployed then and could have done without the cost of it, I had my two young sons in at the time and it could have been alot worse. I chased after the kids but I had no chance. SHOOK ME

Hi Mate, I started a post about a month ago on the state of the AA Field pellets, I got some brilliant feedback from the chaps on here. I was so fed up with the quality of the pellets that I ended up E-mailing AA who got back to me after a while and said that they pay a premium to have their pellets double checked!!! Anyhow I sent the serial number from the base of the tin and received a perfect tin posted to me F.O.C. I am now put off using the pellets but quite happy with the replacement. Slugger

My advice would be to try as many pellets as you can get through it. In my experience every gun is slightly different and reacts even slightly different with different pellets. I fiound it really satisfying finding the right pellets for my rifle. I personally find accupel and diablo hunter suit my S410K best. Slugger.

It would be okay if you could get the damaged pellets into the mag properly but if you have to try to reshape the skirt before they will fit into the mag then it seems alot of messing before a shot is fired. Slugger

Nice one ste, It looks like you have a good perm there with plenty of rabbits and by the look of the young 'uns you are going to have plenty of sport for a while to come. I think we have been spoilt by the weather this week, to be out and about when its like this can't be bettered. Enjoy. Slugger.

Hi Fellas, Is there anyone in the Rotherham area that knows if/when the new ranges are open at the "Idleback Sooting Chairs Factory?" I subscribed to their newsletter (idleback.co.uk) but haven't heard anything yet. It sounds like it will be really good, a few lanes, loan of rifles if needed and a shop on site aswell. It seems the same old story I am hearing. I think Air Arms have shot themselves in the foot (pardon the pun) with their poor quality control. Alot of folks are not using their ammo. Slugger

That is some bad news open season. Personally the only time i would lend my gun is if I was there. It does make you angry because if I ever borrow anything then I make sure it goes back in the same condition. A lesson is learned though....once bitten,twice shy!! Regards Slugger -

I prefer the Stirrup pump. I say me but I have two teenage lads and they don't mind using the pump,racing to see who can get to the pressure first. They are starting to twig that they are being had but, hey... I'm the gaffer! ATB Slugger

Hi Angry Han. If I had any advice to give it would be- Expect to not shoot a rabbit on your first few visits,unless they are really used to lots of humans knocking around. Because on this forum alot of the fellas make hunting and fieldcraft i.e. getting within shooting distance of your quarry, easy to do as its something they have done for a long time, but in my experience it takes time, patience and persistance. Good luck and well done on your perm' it's always nice to hear that landowners still have faith. Slugger

Hi y'all, I started a topic here recently to see if anyone else has had problems with poor quality .22 AA Diablo Field pellets. After pretty much mixed feedback i reckon roughly 50% of members had experienced problems with the standards. I emailed AA just to let them know that it wasn''t on paying a high price for these pellets and not being able to use alot of them. After two weeks I received a reply from "Sheila" who informed me that A.A. pay a premium to have their pellets checked twice before despatch and that they can only assume that the damage was done in transit. Hi Mike, When I was young (when God was a lad) it was all spring power rifles and alot of the older air gun guys say that it was down to learning to shoot with these that they are as good with the pre charged guns today. You get to learn about recoil with springers that doesn't exist with pre charged guns. Many of the guys on this forum will have "served their apprenticeship" on the BSA and early Weirach Models even doing their own maintainance and changing springs,seals pistons etc. I may be biased and I shoot with a pre charged rifle myself but what about a Weirach HW 95K? a nice light gu

Hi Fellas, I recently thought that i would try some Air Arms Diablo Field pellets in .22 after hearing good things from all sides about them. I must say that I am shocked by how many would not go into my magazine (AA 410K) about 150 pellets would not go in at all. I thought it may be the magazine that was the problem but it was the same in both mags and Accupels went in and shot fine. I don't want to have a pop at Air Arms because I have always had great products from them before so I wasn't expecting this. I don't know how they passed Czech Quality Control. Regards Neil

Hi, I like to use the old "fake nest" with a couple of eggs one cracked open and a magpie decoy. It worked twice for me but I had a good wait for each kill.

Hi Michael5, On my perm there are alot of hawthorn/blackthorn hedgerows with about 3 metres of brambles either side, this gives the rabbits the perfect place to have their warrens. During the summer their burrows are practically impossible to get to and see, so you have to wait until the rabbits decide to come out, dawn and dusk usually. I would have thought that if there are rabbits around then you will see signs of them i.e. scrapings,droppings,grass nibbled short or snagged fur. Good Luck in your search mate.
