Here ya go... But don't get too bogged down in the levels of this and that, measuring and adding up etc. Variety is the spice of life - you really don't need to get scientific. I've yet to see a parent who checks the protein, carb, fat and vitamin/mineral levels of foods for their kids' diet - and they all seem to grow just fine if fed sensibly EDIT - Put it down to a morning brain fart lads... this IS the right file - there are tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet which changes beef organs to pork, to mammal meats (including wild and domestic rabbit, boar, poultry etc etc). DOH!!

Yeah, I saw that too for the people who have that many dogs between them that still can't do the job. Good call Baldie, keep this off THL. Like you said, that's not dog work that's something else entirely...

JDF, uninstall Norton completely before you install anything else. As an aside, not only is Norton quite inefficient at detecting viruses but it embeds deeply on your system. Classic bloatware imho. On the paid-for front you can't beat NOD32 imho. It's not that expensive (about £20 a year, £30 for two years etc) and has NEVER ever missed a virus in the wild. Norton, Trend etc on the other hand have missed a scary amount over the last few years (McAfee missed 83 viruses!). Norton scans your system real-time at about 6 megs a second. NOD does that at over 30 megs a second (five times

Yeah I'm about Ricky - it's 5.19 and I really could have done with a lie in myself, but never mind

Thanks for al the responses, guys The offers of help and accommodation we've received have been amazing. We're working our way through them at the moment and have contacted most people involved. Brummy, you have PM mate

Hmm.. "Some people say they're gonna come and lay me out... I don't care, come and lay me out, cos I'll lay you out before you've even spoken!". Sounds like an invitation folks LOL Anyone actually know this guy? Funny how he spends so much time with "witty comebacks" slating peoples' spelling and grammar etc; when he can't even spell or construct a grammatically correct sentence himself ROFL Kids eh?

I can't say I know as much as a lot of people about this topic, but that said in my experience the old adage was right... "Expensive vitamins make for expensive urine" All artificial vitamin/mineral supplements present the nutrients in a non-standard form which isn't anywhere near as biologically available as it would be from natural food. Honestly, don't bother. No need to feed veggies either imho - I've never fed my dogs veg once (and there are many others who feed this way too) and there's been no problems. Juckler, not having a pop mate just interested; have you never had pro

That's about 22KG mate. Drontal is one tab per 10KG so you'd need two tabs for a 50lbs dog :thumbs-up:
-
That's very true in some cases Moll. Thing is, a lot of vets bend this to their advantage. My practice tried to tell me that I had to pay for a consultation to buy Drontal for a pup. I asked them why this was practice policy when you can buy it freely in some human pharmacies, online, etc. They replied that it wasn't practice policy but law. I mentioned the revisions by RCVS et al. which very specifically state that Drontal (and now Frontline) can be supplied without prescription and without consultation with a veterinary surgeon. She still tried to insist so I asked for the practice

I enjoyed it too; it was a good show Must admit I'm in the "Not a chance" group for fox and badger though

I agree. Drontal+ is the danglies and much cheaper online. Just so I'm not simply posting a "What he said" post... Has anyone heard of Milbemax? I used to use it for the bulls, as it's designed for larger dogs. It's more expensive than Drontal PER TAB, but each tab does a dog two or three times heavier than one Drontal, if you get me. It kills the same gear as Drontal, so for anyone with large lurchers (or bulls, etc) it's worth looking at as it does work out cheaper per dose overall (i.e. one Milbemax rather than three Drontal). I was told by a vet a couple of years ago that many

All options considered matey. Whereabouts are you? If you happen to come across a price or a phone number, do let me know if you don't mind please Don't go out of your way though mate. Thanks a lot

Shit luck mate, sorry to hear about this. If the RSPCA turn up tell them firmly and politely (especially firmly) that they aren't wanted on your property and invite them to leave. If they refuse to leave immediately or try to spiel on, inform them that they will receive no further warning before you eject them from your land (they are trespassing at that point). IF they have a warrant (unlikely under the circumstances) it will NOT be for the RSPCA. A police officer and ONLY a police officer can gain and execute a warrant but they may ask the RSPCA to attend to assist them. They'd ne

Gutted, sounds good mate. Yeah with three kids (even with the dogs outside) that'd be too much of a squeeze. If you ever fancy buying then renting any 3 or 4 beddy houses however... you know where I am

Thanks for the advice guys. As I posted in an earlier thread, life would be easier for all us decent folk if we could claim asylum lol Ditch, as I posted on ........... I even thought about moving to Eire. Seems much nicer over there... what's your going rate for lodgers fella? LMAO Tom, thanks for that matey I know about the Housing Act etc having gone through an eviction before (after the last landlord sold up under us, no fault on our part). I don't want to play funny with this landlord, I'd rather keep sweet (even if he is a tw@) and bide our time til we find somewhere. Do

Alright lads n lasses? After 18 hassle free months living in our current rental house with the bulls (all now gone), the terrier (and now lurcher pup) the landlord has gone all shirty and decided he hates dogs. All 12" of them. (EDIT - Don't misread that, that's all 12 inches of my two little dogs, NOT 12 dogs!!!) Never had a problem before, we sought permission prior to moving in (he knew we had dogs), the dogs have done no damage and are quiet. Thing is, the landlord's daughter is next door to us on one side, his mate lives on the other side, his brother is across the street with h

Tail docking !! Government petition - please sign!!
Rainmaker replied to huntinggirl's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Done Must admit I agree about the circumcisions comment. You can't snip a pup's tail off (legally) to prevent damage and suffering later on, but if you wear a funny cap and have curly hair you can chop your babby's bell end down to size for "cultural reasons" -
Managed to dig out and scan in an oooold piccie of the Saluki x bitch I referred to before. She's shown here at around 14 to 16 weeks of age. She had some legs under her, eh?

Good vid, I enjoyed that! I just had a quick look at the anti-coursing vid posted earlier in the thread. Now, I only did stats as part of my degree, but... Is it just me, or do those just not add up any way you look at it? I have owned dogs with Saluki blood in years passed (from Dick Smith's line out of Liverpool Lou the Legend of Lincoln, Calendar Cup winner - bred to Saluki blood from Pat Sweeney in Eire etc etc). I think IMHO that to get the best out of a Saluki it should be an indoor dog. Just look how they're raised in their own country. They're treated like feckin

I'm gonna try not to go on here, but suffice to say: My disabled mum was made homeless through no fault of her own about eight or so years ago. She was told by the council that she'd have to sleep on the streets (with the younger kids) before she was eligible for homeless status and some rehousing. So after much to-ing and fro-ing she was put in a communal accommodation for the homeless (amongst smack heads, alcoholics et al.) and told to wait. Three weeks later she's still not heard anything and my baby sister is getting ill. That week's paper spread the delightful news that t

Even when he managed to utter a coherent sentence (which wasn't often, to be fair) he contradicted himself. To paraphrase, as I can't be arsed listening to the toss-rag again just to transcript the vid: "Take a look at evolution, [foxes are] just hunting. They're just animals, like we're animals as well." (So what the fcuk are fox hunters doing?! Hunting like the other animals, no? ) "Don't bother sending me comments disgareeing with me, nobody's allowed to disagree with me I'll just block them. Nobody should disagree with an opinion." (Like he's not appearing on youtube disagreein

I got a mate round (cheers Gnipper!) and we just made a two sided frame out of 2x2" rough sawn timber, which is attached to the back corner of our yard's fencing. That gives two 6' x 6' fence panels as the back and one side of the kennel/run, and two 6x6' panels made from the 2x2" frame to provide the other side and front with gate. Then I got a roll of 2x2" 16g galv mesh from www.meshdirect.co.uk for just over a tenner, and Bob's your mother's brother. Total cost for the 6x6x6 high run was just over £25 including the two packs of weather board I used to panel half the height of on

Whole rabbit, hare, pheasant, fish, squirrel, the odd rat etc. Also chicken (whole, halves etc), lamb breasts/necks, pig trotters and heads, ox tails (whole), meaty rib racks... whatever's available and free/cheap basically. Variety is the spice of life. Just a tip fella, take it or leave it, but I'd veer towards raw meaty bones rather than just raw mince as mince alone does not help keep teeth clean (and neither do biscuits). Plenty of fur, feather and bone is the way to go
-
Same here. As most know, I'm a strong advocate/proponent of a raw meaty bones and carcasses diet. Dogs really shouldn't eat anything else imo.

Research indicates that the number of fat cells an adult dog has is determined by how many it "grows" whilst young. So, that fat rolly pup will have a much harder time staying lean and fit when adult, simply because it has a much higher number of fat cells to deal with. In other words, same as with people, you don't LOSE fat cells when you lose weight, you just lose the fat from inside them. This is one of the sources the "easy keeper" and the "hard keeper" divide stems from. Fat pups aren't necessarily healthy pups. I prefer them a LITTLE lean myself. Dare I say it... pups brough
