  3. ...................I would reserve judgement unless you know the full facts.................. The reciepient of such a dog should assume responsblity to satisfy himself that the dog is upto the job......... Not all dogs that are off loaded are failed ........ depsite my emotive thread on this matter in the running dog section

  8. I did that not so long ago ...... just parked up an went for a mooch with onyl my lamp.... When I got back to the car, some fat oversized underkeeper was waiting in his pick up, blocking my car in...... and shouting what he was and wasnt going to do... Needless to say I had great pleasure giving the fat-head the big C**nt off
  9. If you can find some one like yourself thats great you know they gone to a good home but if not I think to pts is better Yes perhaps.................... loving homes for all cast out lurchers are simply not there..... I do take my hat off thought to anyone who does take them on and do great things with them.
  10. exactly..............the majority of dogs that are sold as workers, or in the resuce homes are no good....and i suppse thats my point. from what I read, alot of doggin lads are 'holyier than thow' yet the percentage of dogs for sale and in the rescue homes completely condradicts this
  11. May seem strange, but I was quietly thinking about the grey area and stigma attached to moving on dogs What are your views on dogs that just dont make the grade???...... there are plenty out there - but it seems most owners are too ashamed to admitt it. Alot of lurcher lads boldy state that they would move them on without a second thought if they don't do what is required of them - the logic behind this is clearly understandable - to those who associate no emotional feelings whatsoever to their dogs, and see them as work tools only.... In the same breath these 'experts' critize the
  12. Im with you............... I get about all over out of season...just mooching and reccying new spots forthe next season... and my dogs are fit........................
  13. one of our permissions is over 5000 acres of arable land..........and not all of the fields hold scutts.... its essential here to use the landy....spot the gear......and lamp up....... I do like a good mooch though just the same

  16. yeah baby................ you can almost smell it! I wouldn't be too worried about it....probably just scratched it ring-piece with a hard bit a stoole... I do it quite regular......especially after eatinf peanuts!!!
  17. .......................did you get a Blue Peter Badge for those? :D
  18. my cousin works a 3/8 5/8 , and hes the best 'alrounder' I've ever seen......he'll mark, hold steady while ferreting, work a long net itelligently, flush, bush, course on the lamp.....all sized gear.... hes responsive, and intellegent, but like all animals perhaps an exeption to the rule.
  19. I wonder which rescue centre it will end up in
  20. I would agree, some dogs are simply wank...... but in this case the the dog is very, very young....... I think shots advise is good....rest the dog all summer and start from scratch next season.........
  21. to my calculation hes only 17 months old which is still is very young........ far to young to chasing big things Despite you saying you've took it step by step, I think you may have given too much work as a pup...and now hes gone off the boil................ I've seen it happen so many times..... run the bollox out of a pup...and they end up jacking........ Me thinks you've f****d it
