  2. yes I intend to graft with him, subject to me managing to drill in some basic training hes does recall but is only follwing my bitch back to me which as good a start as any...... luckily 30 seconds away from house Im into the wilds where there are sheep in pens, so I shall walk him daily through them to stock brake him.......worked well with the brindle bitch who wanted to kill everything that moved when I first got her
  3. thanks, I was amazed to find out that he has not been off the lead for 9 months so am suprised at his solid composition.... I can imagine that when he was in racing form he would have been spectacular to look at. Im slowly going to work on his fitness, and have him on the tred mill tomorrow night at the brother in laws gym, whilst I throw a few weights about
  4. its good for getting your dogs fit and muscled up as the compound excercise of walking on a hard surface as aposed to soft grass makes the muscles grow and strengthen...............also the tendons, feet, pads also toughen, allowing for better performance on rough terraine
  5. as previously discussed here the photos of the a ex- racer I've rehomed..... Hes called Hey Porter and settled in well
  6. thanks......yes it certainly was a consideration. I am extremely happy with the bitch in every way, shes strong in the back..brilliant jumper, has lovely tight feet, natural born live to hand retrievers, and it as game as any dog I've had. If I had one complaint it would be that I'd wished she'd come up another few inches as shes only 23 inches, and although she looks very racey...shes a solid block, and quite heavy. I not in a rush to breed and will work her this season, and see next year....but I agree, I do think they'd throw a good stamp of dog
  7. for those who were awaitng the pictures, here is is my 3 year old ex racing grey which I have rehomed. He's settled in nicely and getting on lovely with my Minshaw bitch. His Kennel name is Hey Porter, and he didnt have bad racing history until he was rehomed 9 month ago. Really pleased with him
  8. sorry lads......cant agree with you totally there..... raw meet is excelent...sure...and high protein is great for builing muscle. However if its just general weight you want to put on...you need to up the carb intake..... Carbohydrates are for gaining wieght...ie starchy food like paster......bread...... same priciple as body building - carb-up for mass and bulk......and cut carbs and increase protien if on a cutting cycle
  9. nice birds i take it you race then i used 2 race b 4 i cum over her i mite b comin back soon if you still got any left when i do ill have a couple of pairs of you Yes mate...............they race and race well. I gave a couple a Yb's to my friend who is currently racing them this season, and they are scoreing consistently. These are not a diluted strain of loggies, but bought in as stock direct from a well known southern flyer called Geof Head. His loguns original came from the Royal Scottish lofts with papers..are as close to the original Logun strain as your ever likely g
  10. Yeah...Im no expert, but he notched up a few firsts and loads of seconds and thirds.......... I have subsequently given him a home...and hes been with me for since Saturday and settled in nicely ...... Hes a big strong boy of 28 "tts...... I supose his racing form is imaterial to me, but could would like to get him working...and if my lurcher bitch continues to impress.....I think he'd make a good stud for her. thanks for taking the time to look... ...do you know the dog personally.....or just checked up online?
  11. Smashy..............you may recalled I enquired about an ex racer that I was considering rehoming last week. After much thought I collected him on Sat...Having checked his form on ther internet.....he was racing upto June 07, had 31 races won 6....had loads of 2nds and thirds, but guessing that he just didnt cut it. Anyway, Im not interested in racing and took him on...he a really steady boy of 28" tts....... kids love him....ands kennelled without a wimper. The last owner had him on a lead for 9 months for fear of him running off......within 2 hours of him being with me an my othe
