Salcombe direction is lovely, I am off to bigbury in a couple of weeks, love it down there. There is a good site at hope cove called karageen...covered in wild black rabbits as well.

Mine has a similarly hard life...

Intershoot have them coming back in stock on 26th June -
I have had very similar recently with my 6month cocker pup, a collie off the lead came flying over hackles up and tried it on with him. The cocker is the softest dog ever and was straight on his back being submissive but that didn't deter the collie. Luckily the collie did not see my border who was in the hedge right by the spaniel and he didn't take too kindly to a much bigger dog having a pop at his mate which reaulted in the collie running away after meeting my little terrier and his teeth. As per usual, the twat with the collie claimed their dog wasnt aggressive but I left it at

25lb mainline and then shock leader on that will be perfect.
-
I would say that the total duration of the gunfire would only be an hour or so, split over the numerous drives with probably an hour between drives as the beaters push the birds on to the guns. For each drive there may be gunfire for about 10 minutes or so. The obvious suggested is to get yourself a shotgun and get involved or join the beating team!

more of a fight than big carp? my reels are bait runners pal. surely if played ok i will be ok? I wouldn't say more of a fight than a big carp, different scrap and more powerful runs. I would say a 5lb hound will scrap like a 20lb carp - but then I don't fish for carp and have only had 2 over 20lb. If you can I would seriously suggest emptying a spool and filling the bait runner with 15-18lb mono and then a shock leader of at least 60lbs on the end of that. It would be a real shame to get a good run out of one and as soon as you tighten up 8lb line goes. The problem also

8lb is nowhere near enough for hounds-they are more than capable of ripping your rod from the rest and taking it for a swim. I would suggest you need 15lb as an absolute minimum and don't forget a shock leader as well. Snoods need to be 25lb minimum and crab is usually the killer bait. I am not sure of the mark but on the lincs coast where I have targeted them you need big casts 150yds plus to reach them, so your carp gear is gonna struggle with 150g of lead and a big bait. Hopefully you don't need the distance where you are going. Just don't leave your rod unattended! Hounds do not

Sea fishing perranporth any advise ?
oscarsdad replied to kevin from bristol's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
Strangley enough i just found your post in a google search for the same information as I will be camping down there next week as well! (the weather is looking a bit iffy) It seems a lot of the locals seem reluctant to encourage us grockles so information seems limited, I am taking beach gear for the bass, spinning and float gear and also the fly rod as well in case I can find a rock mark with deep water to catch on the fly. I don't think there are mackerel off Perranporth beach though because they tend to stick to the deeper water rather than the Atlantic surf beaches so I will be mai -
If it is border type wire coat then the only way is hand strip - takes ages on my border and you hav to be patient. If you clip them they go all fluffy and look gay...maybe ok if you clip it regularly but not if you let the wirey stuff grow back fluffy.

I have a set of golden ram forged blades 2I to PW with stiff true temper shafts and lambkin crossline grips. Come with a Izzo stand bag and a putter if they sound any good?

whats the best bipod to buy
oscarsdad replied to djwarner's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Don't agree...if you do that then you cannot use the rifle without extending the legs - I leave my bipod on and can then still shoot standing with a normal hold on the rifle. -
whats the best bipod to buy
oscarsdad replied to djwarner's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
You will find you will have to re-drill the stock and mount the QD stud about 20mm further back in order to mount the bipod on the ultra. Otherwise is gets in the way of the MMC cocking button. -
Are they investor or investor plus? I have both chokes you are after brand new and still in their tubes if it is investor plus you are needing? £35 posted for the pair Anthony

For Sale Air Arms TX200 .22 with scope, slip and pellets
oscarsdad posted a topic in Gun's and Rifle's
Lovely condition Mk1 so no anti-beartrap to make a noise when hunting for sale or possibly swap for PCP or shotgun. Comes with Nikko Stirling Gold Crown 3-12 scope, slip and pellets. This rifle also has had a V-Mach tuning kit fitted making it even smoother than it already was. Looking for £235. I will post the rifle at cost. Cheers -
whats the bsa ultra multi like as a hunting gun
oscarsdad replied to Scott the hunter's topic in General Airgun Discussion
In short, brilliant. I love mine. In the last week it has had 11 rabbits and a couple of squizzers. It had 13 squirrels the previous week. Thoroughly recommend one. Nice and lightweight, short enough to manouvre in the car and deadly accurate. Some people complain about the MMC cocking system but I have had no issue with it and it does allow you to de-cock the rifle should you wish.
