Done a bit metal work in my time do u still heat and carbon dip the blade for strength will look mint when it's done u will have to show or the finished product nice mate I like ?

Most people use air arms are BSA I'm waiting for right gun mate need to spend the cash I've got shortly which is 3 to 4 hundred I used to use a weihraugh 22 when I was 15 16 but wonted to no what u big shots use ?

A decent springer for that money. HW or AA. Don't be afraid to buy a very good condition 2nd hand either.
